Lona's Lil Eats was okay . It is a small restaurant that has you order up front at the order window. And then give you a number to wait at a table of your choice. The food was OK. I ordered a smoked turkey in a rice paper wrap with Jamie rice. The jasmine rice was tasty, and the smoked turkey was flavorful, but the rice halfway down the wrap was cold. This was a little disappointing. My wife had a problem with garlic. She ordered a salad, but the salad was dry, with no plain olive oil and vinegar in the place. They gave her a lemon that did nothing. Her jasmine rice was also cold. Overall, it's was not a pleasant experience . With a very large menu, you should find something you like. If you have some type of food allergy, you may want to look closely at how the food is prepared. There is a large vegetarian menu that should appeal to that group of diners.Parking: Parking is at a premium.

A great restaurant nestled in a fairly quiet neighborhood. The food was very good (with local recommendations, I didn't pick the most flavorful items). We received a good amount of food for not a bad price. Apparently this is a very popular spot for takeout on lunch breaks.Vegetarian options: Lots of customizability for vegetarians and labeled vegetarian/vegan options

I appreciate the fresh ingredients and love that the dumplings are made fresh. The food is simple but good, and it's great that you don't have to wait long for food, including during the weekday lunch rush times.Really healthy options and also plenty of wonderful-tasting vegan options.I'm not low-carb, but they have low-carb options as well as delicious rice and noodles and have both spicy & non-spicy options.Vegetarian options: Salads, tofu, and good sauces. Plenty of delicious vegan options. Definitely well-seasoned food.Dietary restrictions: If you're keto or paleo you can still eat lots of good, healthy food here.

Got take out from here and was pleasantly surprised! First of all, it's super affordable and you get a great bang for your buck (entree and side). I got a rice paper roll with spicy tofu and it was so so good! Love this unique concept and how flavorful everything was. Theres a lot of customization, so everyone can find something they like

The eggplant was unforgettable. The noodles, exquisite. Gluten free! Vegetarian! I’ve been thinking about alternate timelines lately — in this one, I live in a sweet neighborhood with brick houses in St Louis, a top floor walk up apartment with a fire escape. The sun is setting later, the evening is balmy. On Tuesdays I walk over to Lona’s for for their Veggie Sampler - a hearty rice, cucumber salad, tofu. Who presses all these soy beans? I’m grateful for Lona. For colorful paint on the walls and window sills.
It was 2024. A warm February. My friends and I were in St. Louis for a night, on our way from Ohio to Kansas City for a writers conference. Two of us are vegetarians, one is gluten free, the three of us are food enjoyers and looking for amazing food. Isaiah found Lona’s and we walked there from our airbnb. The atmosphere is lovely and while I was sure the shrimp pesto noodles would be my order, I changed my mind as soon as I saw the rice paper wrap. I threw my plans to the wind and jumped on that wrap, ordering the Big Thai. Reader, it was the right decision. Somewhere, Taylor Swift might’ve been planning on running for office and announcing it during the Super Bowl or something. But me? I was eating amazing food with my friends. Isaiah ordered the veggie sampler, Kurt another veggie wrap. We also got the mushroom dumplings. We were intrigued by the awards on the walls and pulled up the article titled “The Tenacity of Lona Lou” which was so inspiring. Our server, Foster, clocked Kurt’s “poems” hat and started speaking poetry. By the end of the night, we’d each (Foster included) written 2 haikus. It was a nurturing and filling and wonderful experience. Next time I’m in St. Louis I’ll be sure to come back.Haiku:it feels like freedomI chew with my mouth opendon’t tell my mother

WOW!! What a flavor EXPLOSION!!!? ? Drove an hour north to try them out. The reviews sounded fabulous and, the pics looked amazing. A must stop. I got the giant rice paper wrap. Wasn’t a fan of the wrap itself BUT, the ingredients within were AMAZING!!! Then, I added the lime, ginger slaw side to it and, OH MY GOODNESS!! Will definitely go again and, try more things!! The gentleman who took our order (at order desk) was extremely helpful! He went above and beyond for us. Another gentleman brought us our fantabulous order was great, as well.

Some of the brightest most delicious flavors you can get! Has been noted by the James Beard Foundation I know a couple times, which it fully deserves and then some. A rice paper wrap with tofu, fried rice, and Lona-Q sauce is a meal I could eat every day! Always great staff, and a relaxed atmosphere too.
