This is hard to share, but I won't lie to you. This place makes better brisket than me. This place makes the best brisket in St. Louis. All of the food is excellent, and the salsa verde is the best I've ever had, but I won't be able to look my wife in the eyes anymore after my brisket was beaten.

Omg!!! What can we say, came here from Texas and the Birria here is beyond amazing... definitely by far one of the best I've ever had. Perfect pre-game meal to walk across the street and do a brewery tour... it's definitely a must try!! Not to mention, it's built in an old police station with jail cells you can eat in..

So I live in soulard and go by anheuser busch and saw signs for tacos and wanted to check it out.,,,,and NOW THEY ARE OPEN FOR EVENINGS! The food is great and the service is wonderful. You either sit in a jail cell or eat on the beautiful patio.....you can't go wrong. Would recommend the street corn and the corn beef taco!

The tacos were really good. The amount of meat in a $3 taco was impressive. The servers were welcoming and very friendly. The concept of the old police station is interesting and thought provoking to say the least.

Went there with my fiancé for lunch. I absolutely love tacos and these did not disappoint. I had the birria and smoked corned beef. They were excellent. I’m still craving them with a full belly hours later. I will definitely be back to try the other options. My fiancé is vegetarian and tried the jackfruit and street corn tacos. She Love them both as well. She mentioned being excited to go back and try some more as well.

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! My hubster and I went for lunch. The atmosphere is soo creative. There are plenty of tables of various sizes. Some of the tables are stationed inside of former jail cells which lends itself nicely to the vibe. The service was great. The cashier/server was friendly, knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of chips w/ queso. The hubster ordered the variety tacos. The brisket was tender, fell apart easily and nicely seasoned. The chips w/ queso were AWESOME. They tasted like homemade Doritos but better. My hubster loved his tacos and had no complaints. So, if you’re looking for a chill place with great food, definitely try Pokotok.

Such an unique place. An old police station turned restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. The chips and salsa are a must and their Birria tacos are the best ever. Only open for lunch but totally worth it.Vegetarian options: Nice selection of vegetarian items

I really enjoyed my lunch at Mad Mexica. It is located across the street from the Budweiser brewery. The uniqueness of Mad Mexica is two fold. First, it is located in an old police station and jail, so you can eat your meal in a cell. At first it was a bit disturbing, but became more fun once that initial discomfort dissipated. The second thing that makes this unique is their Birria. I got the Birria taco which comes on a corn tortilla, but is cooked giving it a bit of crispy texture. The combination with the melted cheese is very good. While we were eating, one of the comments was that there was almost too much meat on the taco, a rare statement. Finally, they offer a 15% discount for military members, so be sure to stop by for a delicious meal and unique experience.

Another south city/soulard gem! Don't miss out on their delicious birria tacos and quesadillas! It's a super cool Nevis space and houses this awesome Mexican eatery. The beef Birria was s delicious and the meet is super tender. Get the green salsa so good! Service was awesome and it was quick and fresh. 10/10

Finally got the chance to make it here! The space is SO cool! Was awesome eating inside a jail cell. They have a super cute patio as well. I went with the Birria quesadilla, which was super tasty and too much food. The house made chips, and queso were delicious as well. My girlfriend ordered the Birria ramen, which we both felt lacked seasoning. The service was a bit slow would be my biggest gripe. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, but there was only one person taking orders and running food. We stood waiting to order for a good 10 minutes. Another group actually came in and ended up leaving, I'm assuming for this reason. We felt bad for the lady working, because you could tell she was working her tail off and doing her best. She was SO NICE too!

I haven't eaten their food yet. They were suppose to cater my friends event but canceled the day of because they got a better bigger event to cater. Just a thought if you are thinking about hiring them.
