Maize & Wheat colombian cafe

Food was good, service was ok, atmosphere was standard. We tried the Colombian arepa and meat soup. The arepa was good, a bit pricey for the portion though. The meat soup was dense with cassava I guess. Didn’t really like the whole cassava, it’s a bit dry. The soup tasted good. Overall a bit pricey. I would recommend the arepas. They tasted interesting.

This morning I visited maze and wheat and was very happy that I did.

I got the Chicharrona Arepa, and it was totally excellent. I thought it was a good size and had plenty of filling. The fried pork belly was crispy in some spots and soft and chewy in others, just like it's supposed to be. There was lots of mozzarella and every once in a while you got a bite of sweet plantains. It was really delicious.

The coconut limeade was so good - a bit creamy and sweet and the perfect balance between lime and coconut.

Also got the guayaba empanada, which I thought was a little small, actually. But it was a delicious combination of sweet guava and salty mozzarella within the fried dough.

Definitely will be back to try some of the desserts, as they all sounded amazing.

Clean and bright inside, plenty of seating, service was quick.

Epenadas were great. Chicken & Rice soup was good. Chicharonas was inedible. Very tough. Otherwise, food was delicious. I'll return.

The food was good, but not great, authentic, and the place was extremely clean. The service was good. The price was little high and I wish the arepa had more filling. It was primarily cheese, as seen from the picture. If it had more meat and plantain that would have made closer to being worth $11, but considering there were no sides, it was lacking.

First time in St Louis, I ordered from the hotel and the Sancocho was delicious like the best in Cali, Congratulations!!!!

This was my first time trying this place. When you first enter it’s vibrant and colorful , the atmosphere is very comforting. You have to order at the front register then you can sit where you like. The owner is very personable, friendly, and interactive and the entire staff will make you feel welcomed. The food was fresh and hot . We got the sweet plantain. Yucca , chicken arepas , plantain soup , corn empanadas, soursop juice, and sangrias. The sangria was amazing! Filled with fruit ! Definitely a 10/10 experience
