Could have been good, but food came out cold sadly. Ordered the Mandela paisa and caldo de Costilla. Not sure if we’ll come back.

This restaurant serves delicious homemade food, and I would come back here as many times as needed. The service and the people are very friendly, especially the owner of the restaurant, who is a lovely person.

Been going here for a while bc the food is fantastic. Not much else like it in STL. Texture of the empanadas and arepas are spot on & with so much flavor. Their salsa 🤤

The coffee is also great.

Friendly staff also a plus.

I visit Columbia once a week. Arepas were mid. Very dry. And I they give u one small salsa in an ounce container. I needed 4 to negate the dryness Empanada was awesome. Drink was good. Server was great until she got smart and said every restaurant charges for salsa. I live in California and been to several restaurants here that don’t charge extra. And if they do. Not $3 for the smallest amount. The flavor was good. But not even close to Cali Or anywhere else in Columbia. The location and clientele explains it all. And the food. The Yuca fries was $40 and they took 2 regular and broke them up into small pieces. Should of been $2.00.

Will not come back. Much better places in Los Angeles. I was in town and figured I would try it out.

My favorite dish here is the sancocho, it’s perfectly seasoned and gives me that comforting, home-style feeling. I also love the Colombian arepa, the blend of flavors is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend it.

Today I ordered a “Corrientazo” with beef when I get home I realized they gave me chicken. They should be sure about the all orders. Yes, I didn’t see well the order because the container was down. Anyway! The order is too different that I ordered.

We went to Maize and Wheat restaurant for the first time. After reading so many good reviews, I thought I would be wowed at the food here. But, No - I had such a terrible eating experience. My husband ordered the Churrasco medium rare - the beef was served well done on a room temperature sizzler plate. When we asked our server about that, he simply blamed on the sizzler plate overcooked the meat and walked away. Such a cute response. I ordered the Corrientazo con pollo - the chicken was served cold as well. At this point, I didn’t bother to ask the server again, because he didn’t seem care about customer’s feedback. That’s totally fine to me. I”ll take my business elsewhere.

I ordered an Ajiaco for delivery and it was such a bad decision. Pretty basic. No potatoes. Capers tasted weird, avocado was not ripe. But what I’m pretty upset about is opening up the container with rice and avocado and finding a mini coffee mate creamer inside. Realizing that is what the heavy cream is supposed to be… I’m confused. Disappointed. Just because I’m ordering in a restaurant in Missouri does not mean the recipe has to be botched like this. I also ordered what I thought was a Colombian beef empanada and did not realize they are different and listed as corn empanadas. Worst empanada I’ve ever tasted filled with thick pieces of shredded beef instead of the typical ground beef, potato and hogao filling. What a bad representation of typical Colombian food.

Really good. One of the best Colombian restaurants I’ve been to outside of Colombia. Great vegetarian options!
