Mama Mel’s Pizzeria was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment we walked in, the energy was fun and welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The pizza was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. You can tell this place takes pride in both the food and the experience. A total win all around—highly recommend! 🍕✨

Stopped by Mama Mel’s on Lemay with my wife and another couple. Overall, it was a solid experience, but not a place I’d go out of my way for.
The pizza had good flavor, and the service was fast, especially considering the owner mentioned they were down 2–3 staff members. Even with things feeling a little hectic, the team handled it well.
The owner was very friendly, and the other employees were nice, too. They also seemed to stay consistently busy, and from what I saw, customers were generally happy both dining in and heading out.
As for the food, my main issue was the crust, which could use some improvement in my opinion. It was a bit dense.
It was also one of those pizzas where the toppings slide off when you take a bite, which made it a bit messy (and definitely led to the classic “lava-hot pepperoni” moment).
The dining area is very small (about 5–6 tables), and while it was clean and functional, the atmosphere felt a bit bland.
It was also very loud inside since the acoustics make conversations carry, so it can feel like everyone’s shouting.
Prices were okay, but a little on the pricey side for what we got.
Oh, and if you want to save 3% bring cash. They charge you 3% whether credit or debit.
Good people, quick service, and decent flavor, but a few things held it back for me.

Second EDIT: Dunno why we came again. Avoid this place until they get better front of house staff. They don't care to get your order right, they overcharge, and then glare at you while you wait for your order. EDIT: JAN 2026 The service here is now terrible. The people taking your order over the phone couldn't care less, orders are often wrong and the food isn't as good. I hope mama gets the help she needs. ------ Absolutely the best STL style pizza. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell, hand cut and battered fried pickles, house made dressings are amazing, and the pizza is cooked perfectly. Also a great value.

Check your order before you leave! Was really looking forward to Mama Mel's Pizza. Called order in, Pizza and a Delux salad, they repeated it back to me, told me it would be 45 minutes, I gave them 75 minutes. Get there, all good, get my order, only to get home and my salad is wrong. Ordered the Delux salad and I received the House salad. Called to let someone know about the mistake and got sick of being on hold,so I just hung up.Besides, I wasn't going to drive back 20 minutes for a new one. You guys should have someone check orders before you hand them off to the customer. Disappointing! To whoever reads this-Check your order before you leave Mama Mel's Pizza.

The Detroit style pizza was delicious! Top of the line! Buttery fluffy crust with crispy edges topped with delicious ingredients and a wonderful flavorful tomato sauce on top. Will definitely be back for more!

I’ve been searching for Detroit-style pizza and this place is it! I purchased the Detroit-style cheese + pepperoni. Delicious! The dough was crispy yet still chewy. Phenomenal pizza!
