POOR SERVICE. DISGUSTING, DRY, CARDBOARD TILAPIA.

I ordered the yellow lentils (pictured in two images) and was literally given a teaspoon of lentils. Seriously.... I was given a teaspoon of lentils. That teaspoon of lentils was full of hard orange lentils. The shiro wat tasted old and chalk- like. The customer service is non existent. The quality of the food when carry out orders are placed tends to leave alot to be desired. In this case, I wasn't afforded the option of receiving a fair or full portion of food. The quality of service and product has diminished significantly. The food isn't worth the monies paid or the time it takes to travel, struggle to find parking and to pick the ill tasting, poor proportion food up.

The coffee ceremony at Meskerem adds a special touch to any occasion. It brings the comfort of a centuries-old tradition of coffee and conversation, placing the beauty of Ethiopian culture and heritage right there for you to experience.

We have been coming to Meskerem since we first moved to St. Louis in 2008 and have loved it from day 1! It has never disappointed with food quality and flavor, ambience, and warm service. If you love Ethiopian or are curious to try it, Meskerem is a great place to explore the cuisine!

Having tried 10+ Ethiopian restaurant in 10 different cities, this place is solid when it comes to flavor.

The injera bread though is not good in comparison to what I am used to. Probably the bread is 2/5 while the place itself with the food, ambiance and service is 5/5. Maybe I will order food without injera the next time.

A lovely spot in STL otherwise.

Meskerem had it all. They had delicious Ethiopian food for amazing value (I recommend getting the combo platter to try variety of dishes) and great service as well. The decor also added to the experience with many pieces of art that depicted life in Ethiopia.

Everything on the menu is amazing. I recommend the combos so you can try a few different things at once, but everything I've had on the menu has been fantastic. From the salad and sambosas to the fish special, you could choose anything off the menu at random and I'd be thrilled.
I prefer takeout and have never had an issue. The few times I've eaten in were quiet and pleasant

First time trying Ethiopian food and I wasn’t really sure what to expect. The inside smells like incense as soon as you walk in and the space is pretty small. Probably seats around 15 people max.
The workers were super nice and helpful, they gave some recommendations and I ended up going with a beef dish that came with the traditional sour dough.
Portion size was big. The beef and sides were good but I personally couldn’t get into the sour flavor of the dough. I mostly just ate everything else on the plate. My friends really enjoyed their meals though.
Would recommend if you’re curious to try something new in the area!

A truly exceptional Ethiopian place that has more variety than a similar place in our hometown. It's a little more earthy and less focused on being an Americanized version of this cuisine, and the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is just that our restaurant at home is a notch better (which is not a knock on this place at all). It was almost too much food, as we were unable to finish all of the injera that lined the plate.

I really enjoy the coffee you make. If I don’t drink it in the morning, my day doesn’t feel normal

We had terrible service. Two servers in a nearly empty restaurant. We had to get their attention and ask for everything ourselves. Also, we ordered tiramisu for dessert and it was frozen! Will not be back.
