I admittedly dont have other Ethiopian food venues to compare this place to, but Ive dined there three or four times now and have never been disappointed. We always get the meskerem combo to start (didnt get a pic before everyone dug in, haha). This time I ordered meskerem tibs while the rest ordered beef and vegetarian dishes. We shared it all and not a single bite was less than amazing. I tried an Ethiopean beer this time and it was a perfect compliment to the food. Our server was pleasant as always and answered all of our questions. Service was fast and thorough. Absolutely will return again.

I love the food here and make it a point to stop in whenever I’m in town.
The vegetarian combo is the way to go (they also have a non-veg version that I hear is just as good). You get 7 different dishes and they are ALL delicious! Their injera bread, think of a large savory crepe, but thicker and tastier, is made to perfection and is the perfect accompaniment to all those tasty dishes.
I didn’t get it this time, but their traditional Ethiopian coffee service is a real treat. I can’t speak to their deserts because their meal portions are generous and tasty that I always wind up eating it all!
Whether or not you’re new to Ethiopian food or love it as much as I do, I highly recommend you come on by!

One of my favorite restaurants in STL!
Vegetarian options: I'm not vegetarian by any means, but the vegetarian sampler paired with the regular combo is perfect for 2 or 3 to share!

This place is amazing!!! It was my first time trying ethiopian food and it exceeded my expectations. I got the kwanta firfir and it checked all of my boxes. Incredible texture, perfect spice level, explosive flavor. I’m honestly so sad that this place is five hours away from where I live. I’m coming here every time I’m in the city from now on.
i haven’t gone super recently, but i’ve been dreaming about getting it soon. i love meskerem. one of my favorite restaurants in stl for years (if not my #1 favorite)!! everything on the menu is good, and the portions are insane. it’s my special treat to myself at least quarterly, if not monthly :)
