Gluten-Free Injera
Please note: All entrees come with two pieces of regular injera. In order to make your meal completely gluten free, please order 2 gluten free injeras. If you only order one, the restaurant will still provide a regular injera as well.

Timatim Fitfit

Entrée-Beef
Tibs Wat
Prime beef pan seared, then sautéed with berbere, and special Ethiopian sauce.
Kitfo
Chopped prime beef mixed with butter, mitmita served raw, rare, or well done. Like steak tartare.
Lega Tibs
Cubed beef sautéed with garlic, onions, and green peppers finished with awaze sauce.
Kwanta Firfir
Seasoned and dried beef, sautéed with red wine, and finished with berbere sauce.
Beef Dulet
Freshly minced extra lean beef sautéed in a special blend of house spices, onion, jalapeño pepper, mitmita powder, and butter and olive oil.
Gored Gored
The tenderest under cut cubes of beef dipped in butter. Served raw, rare, or well done.
Tibs N' Quosta
Sautéed, a choice of chicken, beef, or lamb choose one mixed with quota, onions, and green peppers.
Gomen Besaega
A special cut of prime beef seasoned with garlic, onions, and ginger, then finished with collard greens.
Tibs Alecha
Lean beef, ground, and cooked in a mild sauce with jalapeño and seasoned with ginger and garlic.

Doro Wat
Chicken seasoned with onions, garlic, and fresh ginger sautéed with butter, and red wine then finished with berbere. Served with a hard-boiled egg.

Cubes of chicken breast seasoned with garlic, onions, green peppers, and tomato finished with awaze sauce.

Meskerem Special Fish
Fresh tilapia fish, onion, tomato, jalapeño pepper, cilantro, and olive oil marinated and then sautéed in Ethiopian spices.
Fish Gulashe
Cubed tilapia fish sauteed with olive oil, garlic, onion, and green pepper.
Shrimp Tibs
Shrimp sautéed with fresh tomato, garlic, onions, and green peppers.

Entrée-Vegetarian
Miser Alecha
Split lentils marinated in ginger, garlic, onions, olive oil, and curry and then cooked to perfection. Mild.
Gomen Wat
Finely chopped collard greens are steamed and mixed with peppers, ginger, garlic, and onions.
Shiro Wat
Ground, highly seasoned chickpeas in berbere sauce.
Miser Wat
Split lentils with garlic, onions, and olive oil, and finished with berbere sauce.
Vegetable 2: Tikil Gomen
Fresh cabbage, potatoes, and carrots sautéed with garlic, ginger, and curry.
Butecha
Finely milled chickpeas pan-crusted in olive oil with diced onions, jalapeños, and a touch of lemon juice.
Vegetable 1: Fosolia
Sautéed fresh string beans, carrots, and onions with tomato sauce.
Tofu Tibs
Tender chunks of tofu sautéed with awaze sauce, garlic, onions, and bell peppers.
Quosta
Chopped spinach simmered in a mild sauce of onions and fresh garlic.

We have been coming to Meskerem since we first moved to St. Louis in 2008 and have loved it from day 1! It has never disappointed with food quality and flavor, ambience, and warm service. If you love Ethiopian or are curious to try it, Meskerem is a great place to explore the cuisine!
