It’s lost its charm with all of the changes to hours and interior. Sadly I have changed my local coffee place because of it.

Added Perspective

During our visit to MoKaBe's Coffeehouse in Tower Grove, a particularly busy area, we faced quite the wait - an hour for biscuit and gravy! The espresso left much to be desired. Inside, the service setup was confusing, with side by side tables offering treats and ticket orders. There was no clear line for waiting. This place was recommended as animal friendly and I wanted to understand the parameters. When I inquired about eating inside, the host immediately got defensive about health regulations. It’s a private establishment— I completely understand their rules. Opting to sit outside, I expected a 20-30 minute wait. I asked for a water bowl for my dog, directed back outside that I had to hunt for. I grabbed a dessert from the next store while waiting for our espresso. Upon my return, the espresso arrived, and the server kindly gave our dog a treat. Despite my fiancé's inquiry about the ticket time, the host seemed overwhelmed and vague. What’s worse is that you can see kitchen workers looking just as lost, tired and overwhelmed. In my opinion the front of house should be doing their best efforts to make incoming orders run organized and smoothly, so the kitchen can work at their pace. The lack of clear communication and visible chaos in the kitchen left us unimpressed. It's clear that the establishment struggles with Sunday operations, seating capacity and open communication. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations unable me to make any food review. Parking was hard to find and parallel only. Old food was left on the table and the patio grounds.

Best coffee I had while visiting STL. They were able to make the Mini Mo vegan for me, and it was delicious. The seating outside was beautiful, right across the park.

I usually just get coffee here, and the lattes are SO GOOD - like so good I try to recreate them at my own house haha. Love the mini mo and the jamie heart. Great service with friendly staff, and overall just really good, inclusive vibes. 10/10

This is one of the coffee shops that's close to Tower Grove Park. I've only been here once, and I ordered a delicious coffee. Their gooey butter cake was divine! The vibe is chill, and it's like a community staple around the area. I highly recommend this coffee shop! Worth your visit :)

Vegetarian biscuits and gravy, tofu scramble, fruit, London fog with oat milk - add all that to a quiet ambiance, and it's the perfect place for me to spend part of the morning reading.
