How is this place even open for business? Why hasn't the health department shut this place down? It's a scary site when you pull up to the building and it looks like some kind of opium den. The siding is falling off the walls and paint peeling from the doors. Terrible vibe before even walking into the door. After you go down a flight of stairs to get to the dining room you see two tables with customers and the rest with trash and dirty plates covering them. The waitress took awhile but she cleared a table for us and proceeded to take our order. The beverages come out in very small cups with is ok if the waitress is attentive enough to refill it for you. We ordered a xtra large sausage pizza. Took a while for it to come out but it did eventually come. It had a very plain tasting sausage and the sauce tasted like it was half sugar. Halfway through the meal my wife noticed a mouse scurrying across the floor into the kitchen. That's when we asked for our check and told the waitress about the mouse. She told us that not to worry about it because they set traps and usually, in the morning there's one to throw away. Needless to say we didn't take our leftovers nor we ever return to this rat trap of a pizza restaurant. The health department has been notified as well.STAY AWAY!

Went on a Thursday night expecting it to be packed, but it was about half full. Not a very big place, and in the basement of a house gives character and easy an easy low key night. The wine and beer menu is basic and simple but the pizza is amazing! I now know what everyone is raving about! Thinnest crust I've ever had and it's crispy! I believe the less toppings the better big reason why the pizza is so good - it's mozzarella cheese! Service was great, the waitress says they get very busy on the weekends. You can make reservations and order a pizza a head because it can become an hour wait.

The Pizza was great! Light and airy crust with yummy cheese and sauce with sausage Appetizers were perfectly cooked( toasted ravs, mozz sticks, balls) Little Quant super cute hole in the wall!

The pizza was incredible, although it takes awhile to come out. It is made with old equipment so be prepared to wait. What set this place apart for my family was the incredibly kind owner. I was with my wife and two boys and he brought us free tickets to the minor league baseball game, after us talking about being baseball fans. That was such a nice gesture. This place has history and it has people who run it that care. Thank you!

Parking: Parking is street based primarily. In a private residential area. According to the sign inside, do not park in front of the yellow house, they will get you towed.Kid-friendliness: Definitely a hit for kids. Can do no wrong here.Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible. Located in the basement. Only access is stairs.

Love the pizza but it feels like the wait is always long, even when I call ahead and tell them when I'm coming. I still go back though because the pizza really is goodWheelchair accessibility: I don't think there is a ramp or elevator, just stairs

Easily the best St. Louis style pizza around! Trust me, I do this for real! My only complaint is I want them open 24/7, literally cannot get enough!!

Their pizza from a 50+ year old pizza oven was outstanding, we also got a side order of their boneless chicken tenders with the spicy sweet chili tossed, along with toasted cheese garlic bread, another hit. Word of advice, get there early or you could be waiting over an hour for your pizza.

Delicious thin-crust pizza, perfectly seasoned with a tasty sauce and blend of cheeses. Try the Buffalo cauliflower—it’s terrific, best to eat it while dining in for maximum crispness (pizza is also best eaten in-house but is still delicious by the time you get home). Also recommend the house salad with ranch (and really, you should order extra ranch because there’s is so good). Arancini balls are also delicious. If you dine in, there is sometimes a wait but it’s so worth it! Friendly, family-run business that makes you feel welcome.

Last night my gal and I brought 2 friends for dinner (second visit in a month) and it confirmed one of the best pizzas I have ever had. It's STL style, so be cool Blackthorn-I still love you too. But the house made sausage and close to mozz blend cheese combined with exquisite sauce on a crisp crust made possible with cornmeal dusting in the oven made for a perfect thin pie. It takes a while get a pie once you order so get some arancini and a beer or wine and chill out. As Alton Brown says,"your patience will be rewarded". So F'n good
