When I'm away from Soulard, I miss the French onion soup at Ninth Street Deli. Haven't had a single bad item from here.

Stumbled across this place on our way the the Busch place. The food was excellent. The drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is great.

Food and service were both fantastic. We will be coming back to try more types of sandwiches and a burger

My favorite sandwich is the Johnny B Good. It's so good. It's such a nice little hidden place.

We only found this place because we had a tour to see the horses at Anheuser Busch and this popped up nearby and had great ratings. The neighborhood you drive through to get there is old and quaint. Beautiful brick townhomes. The restaurant/bar is adorable from the outside and really cool on the inside. The decor is local sports but it is spotless. Not sticky at all. Hannah was our bartender and was fantastic. Great personality and even shared some photos of the zoo as we were talking about it. I ordered the “St Louisan” and my husband had “The Nine”. We both RAVED about our sandwiches. The bread was SO fresh and really made the sandwich so much more enjoyable. But the pairing of meats on the sandwiches with the dressings and veggies….🤤. Truly the best Italian sub I’ve ever had and I’m from New England. The fries were good, skin on and homemade and the small fry is massive. Food. Service. Cocktails. Character and cleanliness. 10 stars.

Good meatball sub with crunchy yet soft bread. Plenty of cheese too. Big portions at great prices. Quick service and nice outdoor patio too. Fries had great seasoning but were undercooked.

Vegetarian options: Why so many questions about vegetarian options? This place is great, I've never had a bad sandwich there. Affordable, good service, clean, beautiful area. Just go there.

And if you want vegetarian you can get it.

Headed to swanky hot ? spot in Benton Park Latin music ? realize two drinks at 9 pm there's no food at this place. So, we Google search and land on this bastion of fire Cuban style sandwiches and crispy did you hear me crispy fries. Mult TV, plenty of space, drinks good. Bartender was great. Tell Reggie I sent you ? The Cuban and wings were top tier.

Cheap Bud and good atmosphere.

There is a bunch of St. Louis Blues and Cardinals memorabilia everywhere throughout the bar.

As before mentioned, the bud is very cheap. Being right by the brewery though, I guess that's not too surprising.

We ordered chicken wings and they were turning, which was unfortunate because they did have good flavor other than that. But they certainly were not suitable to eat.

We sent them back and told them that they were turning. We offered to pay for them anyways and they did not disagree. They did not take them off of the bill, which was a little disingenuous if you ask me. But whatever.

Overall, the atmosphere was good and the Budweiser was cold and reasonably priced. Definitely would not return for their chicken wings though.

Beware of Darkness

I picked this place at random just surfing around on Google maps looking for food to take to the music in the park at Lafayette Park. Ninth Street Deli was only 5 minutes away, and it was super convenient.

I ordered "The Lars," which was Cajun spiced smoked bacon, mesquite turkey, lettuce, tomato, and tomato aioli. It was supposed to come on Texas toast, but I subbed it for French bread. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in St. Louis! The bacon had just the right amount of kick. The turkey was smoky, tender, and delicious. I got it with a side of their long cut fries, and those were stellar as well!

The food was great, I'd recommend it to others, and I'll definitely be back!
