I took a group there from out of town. The space is neat but the food is not so good. First off when you order salsa and chips the salsa comes in a tiny cup with a very small spoon that you have to used to put the salsa on each chip individually, which is super annoying and now everybody at the table has to finger a small spoon. The tacos were okay. The quesadilla was tasteless. The margaritas were expensive and not very good. My guests ordered some of the other entrees and none of them were impressed at all. The food is bland and has very little spice, something similar to what you might be served at a nursing home. There is so much good Mexican food in St louis, this place is trying to reinvent the wheel on Mexican food and failed. I really really wanted to love this restaurant. The food is also grossly overpriced.
Came down for the Cinco de Mayo block party. Had an absolute blast sitting at the bar and taking in the whole vibe. The staff were wonderful, recommended some great drinks and a mezcal flight. Very busy event but they took great care of us!
Let's get straight to it, food was mid. Steak tacos was well seasoned. Besides the guacamole nothing else was worth trying.
They offered chips & salsa & charged for it. Wasn't worth the money.
We visit St Louis occasionally and we enjoyed Nixta at the old location at Tower Grove. The new building/location looks great but the food is no longer recommended. We sat near the kitchen and watching them use Costco brand tortilla chips from a bag was a bit shocking - given the price point of the restaurant. From my view of the kitchen virtually nothing is prepared fresh, just a cook at a flat top warming previously cooked items that came from plastic containers. I would rate Chipotle as being more flavorful and fresh, and it is 65% less expensive. Not sure if it's new ownership - but they are all about the profit and not the food quality or dining experience.
My favorite restaurant in STL! The vibe is immaculate and the food is phenomenal.
Highly recommend the Ceviche Mixto and PINEAPPLE TIRADITO!!!!! delicious
Too pricey. But good.
Overpriced food with tacos coming in with cold tortillas and filling, no homemade chips or tortillas and the service forgetting the street corn. At this price point and with such a cool atmosphere, I am very disappointed as I wanted to root for you! Please try harder or lower your price. Guac was nice despite industrial chips!
Glad they moved into a larger space! I’d recommend getting something from the ceviche or raw bar menu, especially during the spring or summer!
Ignore the reviews from the prior location - the old nixta is dead. The food used to be great; it’s now mildly bad bar food. The chips appeared to be two different bags of store bought chips mixed into a bowl (see different shape and style in photo)… so disappointing and frankly pretty wild to do that. Even if they claim made in house, I promise you won’t think that. The salsa was pretty good but literally was served in a shot glass-style cup with a teeny tiny spoon?
My wife and I went to Nixta last light for her birthday. We cannot say enough rave reviews! The atmosphere was romantic, chic and cozy. The food was EXCELLENT considering that I normally do not like Mexican food. The fish tacos and chicken tacos were superb. The tortilla chips were so good and the flan was the topping to a great night.

The reopened Nixta on Delmar is a delight! We enjoyed our guacamole app, hamachi aguachile, mixto ceviche, al pastor tacos, & carne asada tacos. Everything was tasty but the tacos were particularly outstanding. The sweet and savory balance from the al pastor tacos left us craving another helping. We cannot wait to return and try a few more dishes off the revamped menu. Bravo, Ben! This new location is sure to be a hit.

I don’t even know where to start with this review…. The restaurant is very hot, humid, and muggy. Not sure what the vibe and atmosphere was supposed to be? Mexican restaurant with beach decor?
And good luck if you’re ordering salsa AND guacamole, you only get one basket of chips (not even filled up all the way) for $4 and $8 for guacamole. Couldn’t even finish them because we ran out of chips. The ceviche comes with ONE singular chip for the whole bowl. Just not a good experience at all. Especially at the price, I would skip this one.

Great food! Limited menu when I went as it was going to close and reopen somewhere next year, but the street corn, salsa, fish tacos and chicken mole were all wonderful! Can't wait to see this reopen!!!

We had an absolutely delightful experience dining at Nixta. It was quiet, cozy and very welcoming. The appetizers were delicious. The tacos were also very tasty so don’t fill up on chips. Staff was friendly and attentive. We will be back!!
