I’ve lived in Oakville for almost 3 years now and have been a repeat customer at Oberweis Dairy, but my recent experiences have been beyond disappointing.

About two weeks ago, I came in to pick up an order while working for Instacart/DoorDash. The store was completely empty—no customers, no employees—just machines beeping and orders coming in. I stood there waiting with no idea what was going on. Eventually, an older man came out from the back (near the bathrooms) without saying a word. When I mentioned how eerie and strange it was to walk into an empty store like that, he responded with attitude, asking “what was?” I explained that the empty store was the issue, and he simply said, “well I had to use the restroom.” I suggested putting up a sign so customers aren’t left confused, and he just shrugged it off.

Fast forward to today—same employee, same attitude. I came in to pick up another order and, while waiting, tried to order a single scoop of ice cream. Even though the order I was picking up wasn’t ready yet, he refused to take my order because I was “picking up” and “stuff melts.” Seriously? It takes less than a minute to scoop and serve one scoop of ice cream.

Between the lack of basic customer service, poor communication, and dismissive attitude, this location has gone downhill. It’s frustrating because I used to enjoy coming here, but experiences like this make it hard to want to return.

I love a good banana split so no complaints from me. 🍌 The people I was with said they were accustomed to glassware rather than the papery cups with their sundaes. We took some of the eggnog to go and it is good too.

Poor quality and consistency. I would say 40% of the time my order is made correctly. I don’t mind paying over ten dollars for a milkshake if it’s made properly, but that is rarely the case. I asked for a milkshake. This is more like chocolate milk.

Great service goid ice cream wuth a lot of options.
