This place is definitely a hidden gem. Very good quality Italian cuisine. The owner and staff are excellent. I love how the restaurant is upscale, but still maintains a home style feel. You're in a restaurant, but also feels like you're in mom's kitchen. Even little details about the restroom how there are personal wash clothes to wash and dry your hands is really unique. The chicken cacciatore was very good. I actually really loved that it there was skin on the chicken and it's personalized cuts. The red sauce was not too thick, homemade noodles, with fresh peppers. The bread that they bring out has a trail of olive oil inside and is easy to tear of pieces which is great for dipping. The spaghetti and clams were very good as well. A nice white sauce that complimented the homemade noodles. I'm not a seafood fan, but I was able to still enjoy this because the fishy taste was nonexistent. Arancini was prepared nicely with sides of pesto and red sauce to compliment. Perfect for dipping the arancini or bread. Not to mention the side of arugula being prepared perfectly. Zuchini flowers were absolutely amazing; almost like eating a flavorful cloud.

Food is amazing. Our waiter, Dan, took great care of us. Owner was walking around talking to each table. I got the veal meatloaf and wife got the eggplant parmesan. Both really good. If you like mushrooms, you need to get the wild mushrooms as one of your sides. Finished the meal off with a shot of their house-made limoncello. Easily the best limoncello we've had. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Peno is fantastic. A hidden gem in Clayton area. We shared their arancini as an appetizer.
I had eggplant Parmesan and my husband had the veal Parmesan meatloaf. But holy cow, the drinks are delicious. Delicious try their Limoncello spritz!! We will be back!

We went for my brother's birthday and it was pretty good. Not amazing but your average fancier Italian Eatery. My dish came out cold, but it wasn't surprising as we were seated in the outdoor tent.... in January. There were heaters but it didn't seem to help. Everyone in there was still wearing their coats. The food was good, but overpriced for what it's was.

The food was great. Service was decent, nothing I’ve never seen before. I liked the atmosphere of a kinda dark, modern feel. Definitely would recommend the Recola pizza. Our server was nice and talkative to us.

The staff was overwhelmed. That is not why I give a poor review. We got up and left because the service was terrible. That is also not why I’m giving a poor review. The owner followed us outside and shouted at us, and mocked us for expressing our opinion about our experience. His tone was aggressive and scary frankly. We kept walking and as we did, he continued to scream and use curse words. He had no interest in asking what he could do to make it better, or inviting us to give them another chance. He was defensive and unprofessional. I couldn’t believe what was happening. That’s why I give a poor review. I thought about emailing the owner privately to address this, but after reading the low reviews on google, I read that other people have been treated poorly when they expressed discontent.
My new favorite southern Italian place make sure you try the grape and olive salad
