I honestly don’t know why I eat out anymore. Pickles Deli feels like it’s caught between trying to be a diner and pretending to be Jimmy John’s and missing the mark on both.

The place looked worn down and not very clean. Several employees looked like they hadn’t showered in days, which didn’t exactly inspire confidence. We ordered two sandwiches on wheat bread (both served cold) and the total was over $30 with no drinks. We could’ve made the same thing at home for a fraction of the price.

The only advantage Pickles Deli has is its location. Save your money and go to the Jimmy John’s across the street… at least you’ll know what you’re getting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review
Pickleman’s in the Central West End is proof that great food is only made better by an amazing team. The staff here truly makes the experience — friendly, fast, and always ready with a smile (and sometimes even a recommendation that ends up being your new favorite).

Whether you’re stopping in for a steaming bowl of their delicious soup or one of their fantastic, fresh-made sandwiches, you can’t go wrong. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcome the second you walk in, and you leave already thinking about what you’ll order next time.

If you’re in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor and make this your lunch (or dinner) stop — Pickleman’s will take care of the rest.

Club sandwich was pretty good. I should've requested my sourdough to be toasted. Also did not come with mayo, but they gladly supplied me with some upon request.

I’ve ordered from Pickles Deli twice, and neither experience left a positive impression.

The first time was in store. I got a sandwich that was overpriced and bland. Overall a forgettable experience.

The second more recent time was when my workplace ordered lunch. I got a sandwich and salad combo. The sandwich was fine, but the salad was gritty, and the lettuce clearly hadn’t been washed well (see photo). There were even some old, wilted pieces mixed in.

I would NOT recommend this restaurant. You can get a similar quality sandwich at a cheaper price at the Panera/Bread Co down the street.

Had this catered in for work one time. The sandwiches were low quality and I would never spend money on them. There are lots of good sandwich shops to go to, I will not come here.
