So glad I thought of Porter's for our Farmer Family Reunion! Check them out if you need any catering items XOX😋XOX
This place is the worst food ever
Favorite fried chicken in StL. I think it’s a flower based breading. Completely slept on. Better than Hodak’s. And I really say that with so much love for Hodak’s in my heart. Limited seating though. Parking is a bit wonky. But, for the people in the back, BEST FRIED CHICKEN SAINT LOUIS HAS TO OFFER!!!! Like, I won’t take dates here bc I don’t want to lose my chicken spot if something goes wrong. It’s that good.
My uncle Trotter (Rest his soul) loved Porters so much he worked for them part-time when he texted from his full time job. He spoke highly of How seasoned & tasteful the food was. I love the Mom & Pop atmosphere. They treat customers like family. 2 thumbs up🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💞

Great chicken!! Have to go back to try the fish!
HAD an extremely disappointing and unsettling experience at this establishment. I called ahead to place an order and asked for chicken tenders. The woman who answered the phone—an Asian lady—told me they didn’t have any. So instead, I ordered a chicken sandwich with cheese and fries.
When I arrived, I noticed four women in front of me—two of whom, both Caucasian—ordered chicken tenders and were allowed to purchase them without issue. I asked the woman why they were able to get tenders when I was told they weren’t available. She told me, “Oh, the cook just informed me we had a few orders left.”
If that was true, I was on the phone long before those customers arrived, and I should have been given the option to order tenders as well. I’m African American, and I couldn't help but notice the difference in treatment.
To make matters worse, when I checked my food at the car, I found out I was given the wrong order. I ordered two slices of pie and instead received a pint of potato salad. No apology. No correction. Just indifference.
This entire experience felt dismissive and discriminatory. I will not return to a business where I’m made to feel like I don’t matter—especially over something as simple as food service. This is 2025, not 1955. Do better.
The employees and the food is excellent. Love the chicken and apple pie
Friendly staff, good food. Always good service.
Management changed hands a while back, was a little bumpy at first. But they are back on point serving great chicken with a smile.

If you like pickle and onion sandwiches, order the cod sandwich because that's all you'll taste. Very little cod in the deep fried filet, and what I did come across was tough and inedible. Perhaps they should exit the fish market and stick to chicken.

Service - For some reason they didn't get my order ready, even though I had called in ahead of time and was waiting for it, so a bunch of customers that came in after me got their food before me. Finally someone in the back asked what I was waiting for and then I finally got my order. Thumbs down for service.
Food - The food was great! They have really good fried chicken. Thumbs up for food.

I like my fried chicken occasionally, and Porter's doesn't disappoint. Thighs, legs, and wings are a 5, the breasts were a bit dry 3.5-4. Whoever's hot sauce they use needs to be sold by the gallon, its just right on heat and super tasty.

One of best chicken places in St Louis 4.5 rating.lol now that's funny ?. Don't take my word for it.We tried the chicken wings and the cod fish. They asked what was my sides were... I said string beans or baked beans...no way Jose... only if you buy the gallon...that's not customer friendly. Can anybody eat a gallon of string beans or baked beans? Chicken wings you could not tell if they wanted flour on them or not and they were a little dry with absolutely no seasoning at all. Is it too much to ask for a little salt, pepper, and garlic powder? I asked him if I brought a cup could you put the beans in it. Yep... you guessed it absolutely NOT!!
