Sweet lil spot with friendly service. Very sugary cinnamon roll & good blueberry muffin (both vegan.) Sat, drank, ate & played backgammon while locals chatted & did work on laptops. They also sell bottles of wine.

The staff is always nice, and the energy is very welcoming! I like to treat myself over my lunch break by going and reading on one of their couches with a cup of tea :)

Nice atmosphere. Both my wife and I ordered cappuccino’s, both cups however, were only partially filled with coffee and mildly warm. …disappointing. The scones we had were delicious.

We ordered a birthday cake from Protagonist Cafe. Even though the website doesn't say it, all of their cakes are vegan. We sent a message asking about ordering a vegan cake and got back the reply that all of their cakes are vegan. We ended up ordering an 8 inch cake for 4 people after much discussion amongst ourselves. We had much more cake than we needed lol which was fine because we sent a third of it home with the in-laws and still had a third left for ourselves.  This cake is a more dense type of cake, not super airy or fluffy. The cake was very moist and the chocolate frosting was delicious. My father in-law loved it and all the non vegans enjoyed it The price was fair and it was easy to order through their website. Pickup was a breeze even though we ended up taking my in-laws sightseeing on the way and were a few hours late!

Great local coffee shop. Plenty of room inside, tables outside. Lots of activity. Vegan options on some of the pastries and cookies. Good selection of used books.

Protagonist Cafe is such a cool spot with a library vibe that makes it really inviting. The decor and colors are cozy and well put together, giving the place a relaxed, comfortable feel. The specialty coffee is fantastic—definitely worth trying if you're into good coffee. The staff is super nice and friendly, making you feel right at home. I’m so happy I found this place. I was online looking for a good coffee shop to visit while I was in town, and stumbled upon this gem. Books, coffee, and candles … all my favorites under one roof. It was so perfect and I wish I had this place at home. I love my Stars Hollow candle that I got as a souvenir. It smells heavenly!
