A family favorite since I was a child in the 50’s
Some of the best sandwiches in STL, and one of the best reubens I've had in my life. Lovely little Jewish deli atmosphere. Get a Schlepper or a Corned Beef & Pastrami Reuben, you won't regret it.

Protzel’s Deli in St. Louis is a gem! I had the turkey Reuben, and it was perfect. The bread was perfectly crisp, the turkey was moist, and the balance of meat, sauerkraut, and dressing was spot-on. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for a casual meal. I loved it so much I grabbed a T-shirt on my way out. Highly recommend this deli if you’re in the area!

Pastrami was awful. Tough, sliced wrong with the grain instead of cross-wise against the grain. Served cold, which would have been okay, although not preferred. Could not eat the sandwich because it was so tough. Not a total loss since I fed it to my dog. Corned beef was sliced correctly and was okay in flavor, but not great. Not recommended.

Was just ok. Deviled eggs had no flavor. I know pastrami is a fatty meat, but I literally had more fat than meat on my sandwich.

Not the same anymore. I grew up loving this place. Last visit there was hardly any food in the cases. The lady behind the counter didn’t complete the order correctly. The jar of pickles had expired 6 months ago. They were out of things and the regalia was stale. I wonder how long they are going to be around.

I went to Protzel’s and they had the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had! Delicious corn beef with thousand island dressing on rye bread was really great! The only thing that could be improved is the pathing situation and also they could use a bigger place with more tables to eat at. But they have really great food I will definitely be back!

First time visit and it didn't disappoint. I had her rumors of the place finally was able to visit since I had a layover in St Louis. It has good food, very pleasant staff and a good overall atmosphere. Plus you can take fresh items home and they have other products besides sandwiches. Here's to their continued success
Dietary restrictions: It's a place where someone of faith will certainly be able to eat with a clean conscience.
Kid-friendliness: They make sandwich things and there's chips and pop. Desserts. No kid will be left out
