Might be the best corned beef Rueben in STL! The matzo ball soup was phenomenal as well. I will certainly be back!

Step back in time, in the best way! We were in the area and searched Jewish deli to find a bagel and schmear and were pleasantly surprised to find this old school kosher deli. We had the bagel and lox with some STL Goat chips. We also had a bagel with meat and mustard. We hadn't had fresh kosher hard salami like this since the 80s n NY and Long Island. If you want to try Protzels I would suggest calling in your order. There was a steady stream of to go orders going out tge door.

Just the best corned beef in the city! Such friendly service, and quite a quaintly old family owned establishment.

Protzel's is my family's favorite place to get deli meat. The cornbeef is the best in the city! I typically call in advance to order because it's quicker and ensures they don't run out. I've never had issues with them running out of meats but I've been too late and they were out of bagels and challah. I also really like the New York knish that is a mix of pastrami and corn-beef. They have great all beef bologna that makes the perfect fried bologna sandwich! Protzels is a small deli and can get crowded during busy times (especially Saturday and Sunday mornings). I also love that they carry random snacks and drinks. I never know what I'll find :)

I absolutely hate that I live 40 minutes away, because it may well be my favorite lunch place on the planet. Phenomenal food and service.

My family and I visit every Christmas to shop, eat rueben sandwiches and pick up kniches. Is it expensive, yes! Is it homemade? YES! You are paying for quality and years of experience. Is it worth it, YES! 5 STARS!!!

Spent close to $45 for 2 Reubens, chips, pastries and soda's. Our order was taken out of turn and others served before me, whatevs... Not the friendliest staff experience I ever had (asked a question - was told to look at the menu, no eye contact) but noticeably friendly to others I'm guessing that were regulars (greeted by name, knew their order, etc). Nothing noticeably outstanding about the sandwiches and the place wasn't the cleanest.....overall meh.

Maybe there is something at Protzel’s that doesn’t taste wonderful, but I haven’t had it yet. The chicken soup is life-changing. Try a babka—I dream about the cinnamon babka that my daughter brings every time she visits. There’s nothing fancy about Protzel’s, but who cares?

Don't know what happened to this place since the last time I was there the Ruben was terrible it was so fatty that you couldn't eat it it was like eating Taffy then I had a New York knish and it was meat filled, portion was great but it had no taste no seasoning at all. I'm sorry but for $25 I don't think I'll be back again I'll try some of the other delis in town and go from there in short if you go there don't order the Reuben especially not the pastrami!

I LOVE PROTZEL'S!!! Seriously the best Jewish deli in St. Louis. I usually get the pastrami reuben - it's fantastic. They've got an incredible selection of Fitz's sodas, too, along with an array of other things for sale such as matzah, jams, crackers, chips, AND MORE. Every sandwich comes with a pickle - duh! And the matzah ball soup is a perfect cold day remedy. All the employees are so kind (shout out to the one who notices my Star Wars shirts!). They even sell merchandise with the adorable Protzel Guy logo. No matter the occasion, GO TO PROTZEL'S! <3
