Overall, a great space near CWE to get sandwiches and burgers with friends. Good cocktails too!WAIT TIME: We had a dinner reservation for a larger party for 7:30 on a Saturday and we were seated immediately.FOOD: I ordered the classic burger and the guava lamp drink. The burger was very tasty and the fries are delicious! Would recommend. I heard from others in my party that the chicken sandwich was very tasty as well. The guava lamp drink was quite interesting looking, and it had decent taste. It was somewhat unique so only get if you’re ready to try some new flavor combos. It was very strong too.SERVICE: QR code menu was easy to access, and our server was attentive, often asking if we needed drink refills.AMBIANCE: The decor and layout works well, it’s a more modern look with lots of pretty lights and a bar. A great spot to come with a group of friends!PRICE: Dishes were roughly between $15-25, and drinks around $15. Pretty comparable prices to similar restaurants.

Came here for the Vegan Chef Challenge in 2024, was treated to delicious whiskey and gin cocktails and really great fried brussel sprouts and tacos. So good!

One of the worst most racist establishments I've ever been to. They lied and told my wife & I they had no seating unless we had reservations which isn't true because we've been on Sundays for brunch before. Lindsey & her staff are highly unprofessional & unpleasant. They try to rush black & brown customers out of their establishment and refuse to alter any meals even with dietary restrictions. Horrible excuse for a hip atmosphere & even worse incompetent employees. And the manager Lindsey may be the worst of them all. Never go here if you're trying to enjoy your day & get decent food alongside respect. Awful place & I live in the neighborhood its my 3rd and last time being subjected to their strange judgement & horrible service.

Farmhouse burger is absolutely BUSTING! Parmesan garlic fries were crazy good, and the portabella sandwich was also very yummy :) Service was great, ambiance was great, overall it was an awesome experience! Would recommend to anyone in the area

We had reservations for four before our show at The Marcelle. And, we were seated as soon as we arrived. One person in our group picked this restaurant because of their participation in The Vegan Chef Challenge. I am vegan and wish I was a little more hungrier so I could try more items in the challenge menu. I did, however, order the Brussels sprouts which came out in a huge bowl. I had enough to share with others at my table plus me and take home. These were the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had at a restaurant. Not overpowered by oil like most restaurants. And the bean purée sauce was unique and yummy. Sorry my picture came out blurry! You'll get my vote for the Brussels sprouts alone. I also got the beet salad which was perfect (hold the feta for vegan) and a Bonne Femme Honey Wheat beer. All excellent choices. Bethany was our waitress and she was attentive and helpful. She got us out of the restaurant in time to make our show. Restaurant has fun atmosphere. Menu is somewhat limited. But, the are definitely going with quality vs quantity of choices. Loved it and will be back.

Reservations were made which was a good idea at the 6 o'clock hour on Friday. The place was jamming'! Nice spirited crowd . Noise level tolerable for such a crowd. Menu presented on the table with QR code. Nice selection of cocktails and beverages. I enjoyed a Mezcal Paloma, although grapefruit flavor watery. Wanted a light dinner so ordered Buffalo cauliflower from small plates. Not a large order but tasty with ranch on side. The salad was mot a dinner choice size but nicely prepared with roasted beets and other assorted toppings. Liked the subtle but flavorful dressing on it. Sharing tastes around the table, sampled some very good fried brussel sprouts, exceptional goat cheese and tasty fries, although a little soggy. Service was good in a busy atmosphere and our server was accommodating. Would like to try happy hour . Looks like a lot of people had that in mind.

Really good food. Shared several small plates. Got the goat cheese and pepper jelly appetizer, cauliflower appetizer, one of their salads, and a honey chicken sandwich. It was all delicious.

It was decent. I wish they offered other side items. They wouldn't substitute the fries. The cauliflower was well liked. I liked the Brussel sprouts. The chicken sandwich was good. Gave the fries to my boyfriend. The drink was kind of gross. I'd still come back and try some other things.

The ambience of Retreat is something to gawk at. Perfectly skating the balance of community and intimacy while respecting privacy. In my opinion, Retreat has the best bar program in St. Louis. And, the food never disappoints. Whether you go for Brunch, dinner, drinks, or dessert, every menu item far exceeds expectations.

Wow, I was so impressed with Retreat Gastropub. It has a beautiful ambience with the best warm lighting. I got a spicy margarita to drink that was absolutely phenomenal. As an appetizer we got the Parmesan garlic fries with the aïoli and they were amazing. These were some of the best fries I've ever had. I was so glad to see that there were vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. I got the vegan Carne Asada tacos and I wish I could eat them every day. Our server was great. She was very nice and did an amazing job. I cannot wait to come back.
