Stopped in here for coffee & a quick bite while visiting from Minnesota. Any spot that makes their own coffee syrups has my approval! Definitely the spot to stop for breakfast / brunch when traveling to St. Louis— amazing aesthetic, affordable prices, good food & wonderful employees. Highly recommend!

Didn’t like the food. (Breakfast)
Biscuits and gravy tasted like chemicals. The biscuits were hard.
I’m not a fan of the Rooster potatoes with the chili flavoring. The “toast” wasn’t toasted. It was more like warm bread. The bacon was average but the chicken sausage was terrible.
I’ve run out of my Kurig style coffee 10 minutes ago. I guess they want me to leave. I would oblige them but I haven’t seen my server to get my check.
The place looks great, but the food is a swing and a miss.

Delicious food. Order french toast and a chicken sausage scramble. Paid $30 but it lasted for 3 meals! Very good french toast. Large portions!

Reason for a 2-star is because of the waiter we got. We were passing through from NC thought Roosters would be a good spot to eat & enjoy the city. With a 12hr drive on us the waiter didn’t make it any better. Food was good but service was not the best

Unfortunately, my experience here was very disappointing. I ordered the goat cheese and tomato jam crepe, but after waiting more than 30 minutes, I was first served a lemon crepe by mistake. About 15 minutes later, another dish arrived that looked more like biscuits and gravy — still not what I ordered.
Our server seemed more focused on showing off their Halloween costume — a “cat” — than providing actual service. I never received my correct meal, and we eventually decided to leave. My friend’s scrambled eggs were also undercooked; she could only eat a few bites. Overall, poor service and lack of attention to detail made this visit a major letdown.

This is more of a bar scene than a breakfast or cafe setting. The coffee came from a decanter (airpot) from earlier and was not at all hot and fresh. I enjoyed the burnt potatoes simply because I like em crispy. Eggs were perfectly cooked as ordered (over medium) but the sausage gravy was somewhat off from what most restaurants serve (IMO). I wouldn’t likely eat breakfast here again but I would give them a shot for lunch at another time. The bartender serving the counter I sat at was not at all attentive to my empty coffee cup or timely when I ordered an expresso. The expresso took 15 minutes to get and only after he totally arranged the glasses he washed before making the expresso. I’m not sure what happened here but it’s as if he could have been new. Like I said, the Rooster deserves a second chance.

Outstanding food. We had crepes and pumpkin waffles and all agreed it was one of the best breakfasts we have had. Jerry gave amazing service.

Really enjoyed my breakfast experience at this place. In all honesty the food wasn’t the greatest but the service, atmosphere, and freshness really blows you away. I ordered a breakfast special with vegan eggs, potatoes and sourdough with gravy in top. I ordered a side of toast because I don’t like soggy bread. The gravy needed a little more spice but I really enjoyed the vegan patty. The jam served with the sourdough toast was amazing. Definitely will be coming back to check out other dishes.

We were in town for a convention and got breakfast here twice. First was takeout but second was dine in. Service was awesome! We had Ken and he did a stellar job at anticipating what we would need. I spent 20 years in the food business and love to see folks who have a positive attitude (even at 8am). It elevates the meal! Food was delicious and priced fairly. Next time we are in St. Louis, we will be back. Thank you, Ken, for making the experience a memorable one!

We were seated, ordered our coffees ( one drip and one latte) the drip came about 5 minutes later… but the latte never came after 10-15 minutes and then I was told their espresso machine was down. I then asked for cold brew, and that took so long that I ended up just asking for drip ( which was good) and good luck getting creamer before your coffee gets cold. There were others seated after us who got their food and finished before we even got to order. Then when we finically ordered, we waited ANOTHER 20 minutes before being served, and my order was wrong ( asked for no gravy, food was smothered in it). They apologized and brought it back without gravy, but none of the bacon. At this point I was just too hungry to ask for it to be fixed a third time. Food overall was very good, we waited on everything from start to finish for about two hours, and the service was terrible and extremely long wait times. Bathrooms and tables were sticky.

This was my first time in here, and not only was the food amazing, but our waiter Ty was incredible. As someone who works in food service, you could tell he truly loves his job. Top notch service.
