Ropers knows the conditions of there kitchen the ribs was hot like that’s it temperature hot the sauce didn’t have the caramelization that you get with smoking them they looked like they been sitting a boiling pot they weren’t tender they weren’t fall off the bone good they were absolutely terrible 😢 which I learned about this place from Steven Harvey when I was little so disappointed ☹️ with roper which I eat bbq anywhere doesn’t matter that it is in the hood or not because some of the best bbq comes from a little sketchy places

Me & my family visited ur place on Sunday 10/19/25 4 my mother & grand kids birthday & the food was so delicious especially the Potato salad so I brought some home & told my Son that the potato salad tasted like I make it so he tired some & he agreed with me then he said he never tasted nobody potato salad that taste like mine.. Thanks will be bk

At first the bbq was tasting good me and my Fiancee ate some. It made my stomach run off hours later why now however this is my first time eating there it was thru an event they had yesterday 08/23/2025 but my fiance stomach just start to hurt just a couple of pieces and I felt dizzy 😵 I don't know why

So my friend and I went to Roper's to try their Bar-b-q. While in line, I saw shrimp on the menu. I kinda scratched my head because I wasn't expecting fried shrimp from this restaurant. I ordered just for the heck of it. Folks, I'm so glad I did. Their fried shrimp are absolutely delicious. The batter is crunchy and really tasty. The house made tartar sauce is delicious also. I literally forgot about my BBQ because I fell in LOVE with their shrimp. I've been back twice since my initial visit. I mean, they've mastered fried shrimp. This ain't no grocery store, drop 'em in the grease and keep going shrimp. This is a real deal, delicious hand battered and fried to perfection. I strongly suggest you try these top notch shrimp. I love 'em! *We also enjoyed the tasty peach cobbler!* We were stuffed and satisfied when we left!
I order the shrimp meal, you can just taste the grease and the fries were bland. The tips were overcooked and the sauce was horrible. I try to support our people but its so hard!
My husband picked me up a 6 piece shrimp dinner after 6pm today, the shrimp and the fries were old and reheated!!! This is the 3rd time this has happened and I thought I need to share!! Ridiculous!!! I would like to get a fresh order or him get his money back! His name is Larry Mckissic, he has order BBQ from there and I have shrimp, but in the past and this happened, I'm 68 and this just brought back the memory of why I stopped eat there! I want to show the picture, it's not giving me that option on here, I was hungry and did eat the shrimp after peeling away the over cooked batter, they were very dry of course and the fries were not eatable!! I called this place back instead of an apology for this mess I was sold, I was asked why would I want to order from them again? My answer was that in the distant pass I have gotten a fresh order and was hoping that could happen again!!! Well I'll find somewhere else! That should have been a much different response! I guess these people have clear entitlement issues and don't believe in GOD!

Delicious food, it was like going to a barbecue at my family’s house, but I didn't have to do any work! Rib tips are tender and kissed with smoke, and that barbecue sauce is soooo delicious-savory, sweet, spicy, and perfectly thickened! We tried the coleslaw, baked beans, and potato salad, perfectly prepared-grandma’s hands are in it. The bread on the side is delicious too and I don’t eat bread, soft-slightly sweet and airy. I wish it was a sit down spot with a restroom, but they want you in and out and I get it. It’s clean in the seating area and comfortable. Customer service was alright, the plight of a Black entrepreneur is working hard for very little and never being able to lay down the apron-because business needs you as much as you need it. My prayer is that the elders in the Roper family get to pass the torch down fully to their heirs and that abundance infiltrates the business in every way and that rest is bestowed upon them. I can’t wait to go back 😁

Roper's 1/2 slabs are amazing, they use some pretty good BBQ sauce on their foods. They also have a variety of other great foods to choose from to satisfy your hunger. Great place highly recommend for some good BBQ.
