My partner and I enjoyed the to-die-for veal lasagna and scrumptious braised beef ravioli with octopus to start. I cannot recommend the food more highly, and the cocktails are competitively tasting! With art and low light, the environment inside was lovely to enjoy dinner and drinks in. Don't pass this one up!

The service here is top notch. My husband and I came on our anniversary before catching the theater. Our reservation was for 5:15, and we admittedly were a bit late, but informed our server that we needed to leave by 6:30 to make our show. The serving staff took good care of us and what we ordered, three courses worth, was all highly flavorful and top notch.

Finally made it to Rosé by Peno! I had a friend in town who wanted pasta, so I suggested Rosé by Peno. It was a Sunday night with light crowd, and we sat at the bar. We had great service and were treated with exceptional care. I was having a rough day, and the bartender was very kind and generous, making us our ordered drinks and then more with no additional charge. He overheard my friend saying how much I loved an Old-Fashioned, and provided one without me even ordering. It was delicious. We met the chef who consulted with my friend to make sure she got what she needed and wanted as a vegetarian. The space is lit by purple light and it's small and quaint. I would 100% recommend going as the food was delicious as well! The homemade sauce was bomb, and my veal lasagna was great.

Quaint but lively little spot in the Lafayette neighborhood with a French - Italian influenced menu. An upscale casual decor and menu with a wide selection from pizza to Escargot to lamb ribs. Pizza available Italian style or as a croissant style crust...The veggie Raclette Turnover a favorite. The Escargot served on half beef bone with marrow is outstanding. The lamb ribs not to be missed. And the Bouillabaisse is one of the best in town. You will want to soak up every drop with the roulie covered toasted sourdough. Oh yes. And the octopus is unlike any you have ever had...unless of course you have been to Peno Italian Soul Food. More tender than you could ever imagine with a slightly spicy red sauce flavored with sausage bits. You'll find a large selection of French wine by the glass is available to sample thanks to their expansive wine cooler tapper. But the specialty cocktails are not to be missed. Especially the crème Lemoncello Death Drop complete with glitter sprinkles - very elegant

Really cute place, cool vibe, and great food and service! I liked how the interior decor matched the menu design. I ordered the Girl's best friend drink, and my best friend ordered the Dinner & A Show drink. We both liked them. We split the beet & pear salad, she ordered the chicken cannelloni, and I ordered the chef's ragú of the moment, which involved all the meats lol (the waiter listed off literally 5+ animals). All the food was delicious! It was funny when the salad came out and there were no greens. I'll definitely come back with my husband (maybe in a month or two to take advantage of a new seasonal menu).

My wife and I had such a fun time here recently. Funky vibe, small intimate cool place. We sat at the bar which I enjoy at times. Had fun visiting with another couple, bartenders, owner and eventually even the chef when I flagged him down as it got late. A couple dozen wines were opened and on display, and tapped by the glass. Received good tips, samples, and descriptions when I asked. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I figured it would be good, and there were plenty of choices for us. I "just" had the pizza and it was tasty. Wife had duck which really hit the spot for her. Dessert was classic Tiramisu (with a slight orange twist) and affogato! The staff gave us a couple complimentary "samples" along the way with a little appetizer and a sample of limoncello at the end. We will be back, and soon. I sort of don't want to get the word out so I can get in whenever I want, but they deserve to be heard. Besides, I've told everyone at work and wife and I have told a big handful of friends that we all need to go back. Located in Lafayette Square between Sqwires and Clementines
