For such a small busy place the service and food are exceptional. You really get your money's worth at this place.
Terrific food and service from Addy. We split a cinnamon roll, and it was a treat. The hash special for the brunch was tasty as well. Coffee was hot and Addy was efficient and polite, a delight. Thanks and we will be back, next time we might dig into some of the delectable looking deserts in the bakery case!
We absolutely always enjoy our time dining here. The food is 2nd to none and the staff is always beyond friendly. Can't recommend this place enough.
The cinnamon roll is to die for!! Enough for the whole table. We were fortunate to get an upstairs table at the window. Definitely quieter for some old friends catching up. Our server was very understanding that we hadn't seen each other in some time. Food was a lot for those who had the hash of the day. Great meal with great old friends
Great dinner with old friends. Sharon was our server and she was knowledgeable about the menu and super personable. Food was amazing!
The ambience and food were both great. We sat outside on the patio. Our server Sandy was friendly, professional and efficient.
AMAZING AS ALWAYS!!! Clint was our tour guide for the night and was fantastic, it is always a pleasure to have a meal at the most outstanding neighborhood restaurant in the city!!!
Solid place, and will probably give it a full 5 stars next time if they aren't out of the highly desired cinnamon rolls which is why we came to try in the first place! Super busy, and recomend getting a RSVP before hand. Luckily for us, manager got us a table. Food was fresh and you can tell the quality of ingredients.

My wife and I had reservations for Valentine’s Day that I made over a month in advance. We frequent Russell’s, and often split plates as their portions tend to be large. We’ve never had any issues before, we actually have had amazing waitstaff over the years. Last night, we began ordering close to $100 worth of food and cocktails, with plans to order additional items, dessert and additional drinks, only to be told they would charge us $20, if we shared our entree. Their $20 surcharge would have been a dollar cheaper than their cheapest entree on the menu (a $21 burger). The waitstaff was quite entitled stating it’s because they, “turned down a lot of reservations today.” My wife and I opted to leave due to their apathetic approach to problem solving the situation, and will not return to Russell’s, again. We would have spent well-over the $20 surcharge in cocktails/wine, alone, but they were incredibly greedy. I don’t know if it’s because we were an openly queer couple, or what, but I am immensely disappointed and will be sharing this incident with friends and family that frequent the establishment.

I used to LOVE Russell’s on Mackland—the food and desserts were unmatched.
Unfortunately, I went on 10/16/24 and was shown how far they have declined. The mothball scent in the air (upstairs at least), the lack of service (20+ minutes without a drink order or water), and the owner who sadly was trash-talking out-of-sight customers.
We waited 20 minutes and did not see wait staff attend to a single table.
I wanted to support this place. But please consider other great local places in the area if you would like good food or a nice experience. Russell’s on Mackland has checked-out.
Russell’s does not want your business, does not care about their neighborhood, and could care less about quality.

We ordered our wedding cake through Russell's and it was so pretty & tasted incredible! We went with a 9" signature cake it was just what we needed for the traditional cake cutting photos. We picked up the cake the day before and the next day it still tasted fresh.
We also frequent brunch here and it never disappoints - we love to leave with something from the bakery counter to snack on later. Highly recommend Russell's!

The food was great, the restaurant was in a cute little spot. The inside was so welcoming and the staff was great. Great start to a Sunday Morning. I had the Grilled French Toast l, it was delicious.

When our waiter walked over in what looked to be basketball shorts I should have known I’d be disappointed. And I was! Cheeseboard was a sticky mess and the cheese itself was nothing special. Medium rare steak was medium well, short rib entree tasted like it was swimming in teriyaki and was chock full of raw broccolini stumps. Our waiter informed me they were “out of sangria” - you’re out of white wine and brandy?
