Disappointed in both our meals. Cuban, huge chunks of pork that were very tough and dry. Meat might have been better shredded. Bread toasted not pressed as Cuban sandwiches are. The ham was good so took it off and ate it alone. Left other half of sandwich vs taking with. French fries hot and fresh. Loved them!! Biscuits and gravy with weird spice. Not enough gravy to cover biscuits. Egg was cooked perfect and good. No more brunch for us. Love the regular lunch and dinner menu....
This was my first time Russel's on Macklind. It is now my favorite restaurant in STL. It was my 1st anniversary. Maggie, the owner, contacted me beforehand and they went above and beyond to make it really special. I dropped off roses before hand. They had the perfect table picked out with chilled wine and flowers ready. My girlfriend loved it, and they threw in dessert as an extra surprise. Honestly, the best dining experience so have had in St. Louis and the food was incredible....
All good w the exception of the noise level. It was off the chart due to several large tables inside. Very difficult to even carry on a conversation. Otherwise, a good experience. Was also very disappointed you wee outta meatloaf since it was so early. With such a limited menu, it makes a difference! Waiter was great
