Amazing food and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful :) recommend taking out rather than dining in, because the establishment is a little small
Really delicious all around! The katsu chicken was fantastic and I loved their fries. Plus the taiyaki was a great sweet treat! Excited to come back and try more!
A TASTE OF JAPAN WITH AN AMERICAN TOUCH
I had the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were bold, with the perfect balance of sweetness and spice. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender inside, creating an ideal bite every time. My friend ordered the Mushroom Katsu Sando, and it was equally impressive crispy on the outside with a juicy, savory interior that made it hard to put down.
The togarashi fries were a highlight too perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. And the curry fries were an unexpected delight, with flavors that captured the essence of Japanese curry in every bite.
Overall, Sando Shack is the perfect spot to stop by for anyone craving unique, flavor-packed Japanese-American fusion sandwiches.
10/10 would definitely recommend and eat again. Had the regular chicken katsu sandos, fries, Hawaiian Sun, and curry rice balls. All was delicious.
Expensive and slow for a takeout place with almost no seating. Almost $20 for just a katsu rice bowl after tax and tip, over that if you get a drink too. It was pretty average, no better than Panda Express and takes much longer.

Just WOW! I was looking for a place to eat after walking Tower Grove and this spot looked good. I was not let down. Both the pork and chicken were sweet and spicy sandos were delicious. It was all made fresh and it was hot and crispy. The fries were delicious with different seasonings. The bread for the sandos was delicious. The taiyaki was great too. This is worth a visit and the money. I'll be back.

Great sandwich shop, full stop
Vegetarian options: There's a mushroom sando and a mushroom bowl - the sando is not vegan as it is milk bread toasted with butter.

Sando Shack in St. Louis is hands-down one of the best spots for unique and flavorful eats. Both the mushroom sando and mushroom bowl are insane, packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying.
The mushroom sando has that ideal crispy-to-juicy ratio, with deep, savory umami flavors that hit every note. The mushroom bowl offers a hearty, comforting option that's just as delicious.
If you're a fan of mushrooms or plant-based dishes, this place will blow your mind. Quick service, friendly staff, and food that leaves you wanting more.
Put this spot on the list.

I ordered a pork katsu sandwich via Uber Eats. When it arrived, the inside was uncooked. Since the sandwich and the breaded pork had been cut in half, this means that either someone didn’t look or someone didn’t care. When I called the restaurant, they did not apologize but instead told me that it was probably because the kitchen was busy. I can get a refund from Uber Eats, and I will, but I would never order delivery from a restaurant with no quality control. You have no idea what you will get and will have wasted 30-40 minutes to find out.

There were 4 of us who ate there and we are divided in our experiences. We all got the sweet and spicy chicken katsu sandwiches with fries. The fries were awesome! The chicken on 2 of the sandwiches were very dark and inedible around the edges. The slaw was spicy and several weren't expecting that. The sauce is HOT. Those that got theirs on the side were fine but those that didn't found it difficult to eat the drenched sandwich. The cucumber salad was delicious and helped cool off firey mouths.

I wanted to love it. The pork tonkatsu was good, but the cucumber salad was very disappointing which made me sad. I didn’t taste any sesame oil. It tasted more like a sliced mini cucumber topped with olive oil.
