Inconsistent food and inconsistent service. Had the worst broccoli cheddar soup I’ve ever eaten there and that’s my favorite thing to order most days. You’re rolling the dice every time you eat there. Not worth your money. Not worth your time.

Don't order a latte. It's drip coffee with french creamer.

Overpriced and not good food. The garden glow dinner was $18 but in reality should’ve been sold for $7. Lots of microwaved food.

Wonderful and beautiful cafe in my favorite place in St. Louis - The botanical garden! The prices are affordable, the service is fast, the interior is unique and aesthetically pleasing. Ms Tiffany is the most hospitable, friendly and wonderful person that we met there 🤗 I feel proud to bring friends and family there when they are visiting us.

Tiffany was so awesome and gave my family and I a great dining experience. Truly a special person that made this day memorable.

The staff are so so lovely at Sassafras Cafe - always so friendly and accommodating when I’m there with my toddler. Food is fresh, fast and reasonably priced. Great spot to share a meal with kids.

What a beautiful patio and view! Brought my wife and mother to the gardens for the day and we ate both breakfast and lunch! The dining room and patio are kept very clean. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The negative reviews here were not our experience.

Waste of your time don’t go here is mediocre, and Food takes forever! I was the first one here and I’ve been waiting for 45 minutes. Regret coming here

There are two separate lines: cafe is grab go (including baked goods) and restaurant a fast casual counter serve (soup, salad, sandwich, burger). There was a long line for cafe but no line for restaurant when I visited during the Japanese festival. Food was decent, potato leek soup of the day was flavorful and hot but very salty. Employees were friendly and courteous- apologized for the wait as they were very busy! Overall, I recommend this cafe over the Japanese festival food vendors (and the atmosphere is quite cute)!

I ate here during their brunch hours and I was impressed by their offerings. I opted to get the Belgian waffle with pecans, fresh berries, syrup, and whipped butter. It also came with a side of pineapple, watermelon, and cantaloupe slices. It was better than I expected. However, what I didn't enjoy was that they mixed small pieces of crushed pecans into the waffle mix. This results in every other bite of waffle feeling like you're biting a small rock because the texture of the pecans were very hard and kinda hurt my teeth. I didn't order anything else, so I can't comment on their other offerings. I wouldn't get the waffle again, but it's wasn't the worst thing I've eaten. Prices were about what you'd expect, it was about $10. It's a good option if you don't want to leave the garden. Employees were very friendly!!

I only stopped in for a bottled juice. But the staff were really nice. I will definitely come back to the restaurant/Cafe.

Perfect place to ruin a perfect day!
The atmosphere is great. Beautiful patio and awesome furniture, kids friendly environment.
The food is simply terrible, not only it tastes bad ( sugar in tuna salad, sugar in chicken shawarma!! ), but it also made us all sick.. even the coffee tasted bad, I wish I wouldn’t trust the reviews and wouldn’t go there ?
Not recommended.

Taking the orders was fine waiting for the food was ridiculous! 40 minutes to wait for a sandwich is too long. Don’t offer a restaurant if you don’t have the people to serve.
