I am a serious ice cream fanatic and I especially love homemade ice cream!! So when I saw Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream makes their own ice cream, I knew we had to try it on our last night in St. Louis!! First, it is in a cool up-and-coming type neighborhood called "The Grove". As soon as we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted by the staff. The next thing I noticed was a large unity flag to welcome LGBTQIA+ in the dining room, as well as a non-binary bathroom. This made me very happy since our son, and several family and friends, are LGBTQIA+. Next, the selection of ice cream flavors was impressive!! I also quickly noted they had the usual sundaes, scoops with a variety of cone choices, shakes and malts, with a variety of syrups and toppings. But then I noticed the selections and creations were far from usual!! I have outlined it as follows:1) Homemade Ice Cream!! There are so many flavors, it is super hard to make a choice!! So I recommend planning to go several times!! I know I will be going there any time we are in, or passing through St. Louis (I'm a Travel RN, so we travel all over the country).2) Ice cream sandwiches: You can make your own ice cream sandwich with your choice of ice cream and your choice of fresh cookies!!! What?!?3) Sundaes: They have their own signature sundaes. I tried a sample of their ice cream that had those St. Louis Hot Chips (can't remember the name) and Chocolate in a vanilla base. I almost got that flavor, but the Cookie Monster ice cream had me mesmerized with it's pleasing blue base and a variety of cookie dough and cookie pieces throughout. I opted to go with a double scoop sundae of Cookie Monster ice cream and Hot Fudge!! I thought it was amazing!! I realize it is not the flavor for everyone. They said it is super popular among the kids. But hey, who doesn't want to be young at heart sometimes, or in my case, a lot of the time!! Lol!!4) Shakes and Malts: There are so many choices, toppings, and syrups to choose from!! Also, they have a whole menu of SPIRITED shakes and Beer Floats!! My husband loves vanilla, and vanilla malts, so that is what he opted for. I know it sounds plain, with so many choices!! But, he said he can't remember having a better vanilla malt. I don't care for plain vanilla, but tried a swig of his malt, and found it to have a really rich depth of flavor for plain vanilla!!5) Honorable Mentions: They have novelties such as Dip Stix and Bon Bons!! They also have pre-packaged pints to grab and go. They have Proffertjes, which are described as tiny Dutch Pancakes (I think I'm going to try those next time, and add a scoop!!). Also, while we were there, they were experimenting with a homemade, ice cream and waffle version of famous St. Louis "toasted ravioli" novelty they plan to offer, for a limited time.6) They have several Gluten Free options that looked really tasty, even if you're not on a GF diet!!7) Literally they have something for everyone, in a fun, inclusive atmosphere!! Give Serendipity a try. I promise you won't be sorry!! I can't wait to pass through St. Louis again!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Options

Just got the cookie/brownie ice cream sandwich with mint chip ice cream. The brownie and the ice cream were great but the chocolate cookie was so hard, I couldn't even eat it. Not a huge deal, I just ate the brownie and ice cream but for the price, I feel it should have been better.
This is a good stop for something sweet on a sunny afternoon. I swung by here and it didn't disappoint. The icecream flavors were great and they had a new addition(Red Hot Riplets) which was interesting for the ppl that like spicy sweet icecream. The staff were polite and helpful and I opted for the shakes which was delicious and smooth. Keep up the great work!!
