The food was delicious. They start you with a complementary lentil soup that is amazing and all of our 3 meals were delicious. We will recommend this place and come back.

Extremely good, locally owned cuisine. My favorite restaurant in the city. Outstanding food, large portions, authentic presentation (as far as I know, being from Missouri). As good as it gets on South Grand.

We got there right before closing. I told the server I love eggplant. I let her decide. My dish had eggplant and meat. If I would've had more time to contemplate l would have chosen non meat. Personal preference. Everything was delicious. The ambiance is right on. It was my first time visiting. I would love to go back. It was a sensory experience. Sheesh! Highly recommend.

Eggplant was good. The salad was good.
Alinazik kebab was super spicy, and we couldn't eat it. When we told the server, the server said the menu says it is chilly, but we showed her it is not in the menu.
The ground lamb was also spicy but tolerable.

Sheesh is more than just a restaurantâitâs a soulful escape. The moment you sit down in their peaceful garden patio, surrounded by blooming flowers and soft afternoon light, you know youâre somewhere special.
The food is incredibleâevery bite of the kebab platter was packed with flavor. Juicy meats grilled to perfection, fluffy saffron rice, and that golden crispy roll? Absolutely addictive. The small details shineâlike the sprinkle of sumac, the creamy garlic sauce, and the refreshing citrus notes that tie it all together.
After the meal, I enjoyed rich, bold Turkish coffee served in beautifully ornate copperwareâsuch a thoughtful, authentic touch. I paired it with a smooth hookah session that let me unwind and reflect.
This isnât just dinnerâitâs an experience for all your senses. Whether youâre catching up with friends or finding peace alone, Sheesh delivers comfort, culture, and connection in one perfect setting.
Highly, highly recommend.

After we ordered the hummus appetizer our waitress brought us some complimentary lentil soup. The soup was delicious. The soup has some heat plus great flavors. The hummus was pretty typical. I ordered the ground lamb kebab. The lamb was a little overcooked. We had to find our waitress to place our order.

2025: They have much better quality food. Got takeout late one night and was pleasantly surprised at the changes. Good job on making kebab and rice taste more authentic.Soup was delicious! We will come again!
2023: The food is ok, I like the decor better than the food itself though. I grew up in Uzbekistan, so I know what the food is supposed to taste like, but some of this stuff is either overcooked or just underwhelming in general. This place is pretty popular, I guess some people just dont know there is better.

We came here to celebrate with something other than a typical American steak and this place did not disappoint. Everything was delicious with some unique flavors we hadn't had before. And a great value for what we got. We will def be back.

Sheesh was so much fun for my friendâs birthday and then for Motherâs Day. The restaurant owners take careful care of the decor and upkeep, and the attention to detail shows in everything else, too. Everything on the menu is good - from the soup (a real showstopper) to the house coffee (an experience on its own!) and the desserts. Everything is good, a lot of it is gluten free, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. It was so fun and beautiful, I will be back!
