Everytime I drive south on Route 55, I notice the sign for Sol Azteca on the back of a small strip mall plaza. And without fail, I always comment "I want to try that place sometime." After looking at photos posted on their Yelp page and reading so many glowing reviews, I immediately made plans with my dear friend Rosey to get lunch there during the work day. Sol Azteca has a perfect five star average, and I'll tell you what, there's a reason . The food. The menu at Sol Azteca is quite large, so deciding what to get was tough. I had read so much about their interesting take on quesadillas and I was very excited to try one. While most quesadillas are round, Sol Azteca offers something a little different... a long, skinny quesadilla! It was so interesting to see. And wow was it big! They offer many mix-in's for your quesadilla, each sounding yummier and yummier than the previous. I went with the Quesadilla Azteca which had beef, pork and chicken inside. The meat was tender and the cheese was a great blend. I did pour queso on it for an added treat. I also ordered a chile rellano. SO good. the pepper was spicy and the cheese poured out all over the plate when I cut into it. It was served with rice and beans too. It was absolutely an order I placed with my empty tummy. Could barely finish everything because the portions are so generous. Both Rosey and I ordered two margaritas each. The first one I had was a house margarita on the rocks. Perfect blend and it wasn't too sweet. But the second drink I had was the all-star, the mango margarita. It seemed as if they pureed the world's most ripe mango mere seconds before pouring it into my glass. I highly recommend this drink.

You have to try the churros with ice cream! It was amazing. The churros are fresh, warm, and full of cinnamon. They add some caramel and chocolate sauce. We were in heaven! (My husband also loves their tostadas.)

This past Friday, I order a chicken Chimichanga includes rice, beans and the trimmings for $10+ ...I guess for that price it was cool?♂️ when there others near by for cheaper, bigger and better. However what disturb me? was the establishment don't offer chips and salsa with meal unless dine in OR pay more?♂️ ...I figured for that price I'll get a better service and chips and salsa! ??♂️ ...sooo I order to dine in! And my food still got serve in styrofoam plate! The server was unknowledgeable, not friendly, I had to ask for silver wear AND the chips was cold! Salsa was Undescribable ? ...Woow not cool! Not cool! ???

I had the Chili Relleno and Flautas. I have to say this was probably the best Mexican food I have had in years! Just found my new favorite spot!

This is one of those hidden gems! Unpretentious in a little strip mall. Looks like any ordinary Mexican restaurant BUT the food is incredibly fresh and good quality. Not only that, but the flavors have a little bit of an edge over other Mexican restaurants. The quality, flavor, and fantastic prices will please you!
.un buen servicio y sabor
