Family and I come in pretty regularly on Saturdays for lunch. We love it here and we love saying hi to Kipp and Ham. All the sandwiches are great, but gotta recommend the BLT. It's the best!
Authentic St Louis sandwich shop- no frills just good food & friendly local service
We have not been here in a bit and it was great as always drive in from arnold for a great sandwich. And the owner is always so nice.
Great place to eat with great compassionate service.
OMG 🔥🔥🔥🔥‼️ The best sandwich I have had in years. The owner makes everyone that enters feels like family.
My husband and I went here regularly back in the 80s - we loved it. He died and I moved out of the country for almost 20 years. A friend recently visited from out of town, and I decided I needed to finally go back. So glad I did. Got the special - hot as we always did. Still as good as I remember it. Space has gotten a major upgrade, which is nice. Made my day. Thanks!

Bad ass! Used to live on the hill as a youngin and frequented southwest market often. I remember when entrance was on the corner. Anyway I used to get the BBQ beef sandwich, moved away from city and hadn't had it in years. It wasn't on the menu anymore but gentleman behind counter said he could still make it. Well consistency is there. It is exactly as I remembered from years ago and delicious as could be. I'm glad I had the opportunity to go in and recreate some nostalgia from long ago only thing changed was the price but was worth it for sure. Hope to make it back again soon way to go!

After a two-month hiatus from dining out thanks to a buttery turntable incident with a DJ (don't ask), I was craving a sandwich. But not just any sandwich - I was on the hunt for the elusive perfect Reuben. So I ventured out from my hermit cave and wandered into the bustling deli world of the Hill. After what felt like a trek of epic proportions, I stumbled upon Southwest Market Cuisine.
The moment I walked in, I was hit with the inviting scent of fresh deli meats and maybe some imaginary potato salad. That's the kind of deli aroma that speaks to my soul. As I approached the counter, the gentleman informed me that they had sold out of their homemade meatballs - a gut-wrenching blow, to be sure. But no matter, I had my sights set on the Reuben.
I placed my order and eagerly awaited the arrival of my sandwich, envisioning a masterpiece that would satisfy my hunger pangs. And lo and behold, there it was - a glorious Reuben piled high with corned beef, sauerkraut, gooey melted cheese, and a generous drizzle of Thousand Island dressing, all sandwiched between marbled rye bread. It was worth the wait.
I raced home and devoured the delectable creation in record time, slipping into a delightful food coma on my couch. As I drifted off, I dreamt of another Reuben from Southwest Market Cuisine. I'll definitely be making a return visit soon - after all, a sandwich that good deserves an encore.

Bring a friend, because their sandwiches are too big for one person. Southwest Market Cuisine is old school, throw back to when a neighborhood deli had regulars and everyone knew your name. The guy taking the orders knew 'the usual' for the customer behind me. Atmosphere isn't cozy or quick casual, but really works for The Hill. Reuben was delicious and so was the macaroni salad. Great variety of potato chips. And who doesn't love house made cookies? If you are in the area for lunch, Southwest Market is worth a stop. (It isn't really a market though, they just do sandwiches)

Definitely a great sandwich shop! I haven't been in since pre covid times. It's kinda sad to see the way he had to change up his shop to stay in business. I missed being able to see your sandwich being made and going through the line and getting my own refill. But I absolutely love this place and I do recommend grabbing you a sandwich of any kind! They are all great! And don't forget the free cookie!!
