Haven’t been in awhile but I do know they serve the best breakfast! My husband loves ‘The Slinger’ the best. Great food and atmosphere! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

When we travel, we always seek out a local diner. We found Spencer’s Grill and we weren’t disappointed. Place was packed on a Wednesday morning, which shows we found the right place! Typical diner menu, great vintage atmosphere and super friendly staff. Food was delicious, good portions, quick service. Sourdough toast was homemade, sausage gravy was a hit with real 1/2 & 1/2 and butter on the table. Will definitely be back!

Closes at 2:00pm ? That’s crazy. No dinner and most of the world works days so that leaves them out from eating there…

I love Spencer’s. My only complaint is that the menu is small after they changed ownership. But other than that, the food is good; just sometimes, it can be hard to find a table. I still love it, and it is a classic.

Parking: There is a parking lot in the back, but it is usually full, and if it's busy, street parking is hard to find.

The new owners promised some new innovative dishes. Didn't happen. It was much better before.

Very cool retro-style diner. Food was decent but to be honest not really destination worthy. Four of us stopped as it was a neat retro eatery on rte 66. Nice vintage styling with good service. Now that we've seen it we would likely stop elsewhere on a future rte 66 road trip but very definitely worth at least one visit!

This diner was highly recommended by locals. We were in Kirkwood and decided to try.
At this time, they offer limited breakfast menu. Space is very small and service was on the slower side. Parking on the street or back of the restaurant. Food was good.

A long-time neighborhood favorite, this small diner feels like it's right out of 1850. It checks off all the right boxes: it's fast, friendly, affordable, and has good hearty food. The limited menu has all your favorites.

Update #2- Once again new ownership riding on the coat tails of what was fixed. So like the new reduced menu well that's it. Food was garbage and not due to the cook but whomever is yelling out orders and assisting stop he knows how to cook and do it well. Do not understand why you cut costs everywhere yet add costs in places that where already working. So add costs to packaged salt, pepper and sugar tea no more shakers, canned soda, premium sausage yet has no flavor, to union loafers bread being the only option and makes a garbage b-fast sandwich but let's use great value syrup and squeeze it into unmarked containers ( see pic) .Ok so hash brown not crispy like they increased the margarine to butter ratio in the clarified blend, meat is tasteless and butter the bread thought I was asking for Vegemite to get server to understand. Well lastly the atmosphere is gone, is run like a burn and turn everything is digital so be sure to ask for a total before they give you the pad to pay and watch as only the nice older lady was the only one washing her hands at all. So skip until maybe they get a clue and go the the Barn or even yes Bob Evans at least there won't be constant yelling.

Update - brought in some new talent to cook and has gotten better and have eaten bfast with daughter last 4 weeks and is consistent with the new cooks owner cooked last week and was just ok.

Usto be good. Dont know what has happened to this place but the new owner/cook is horrible food is different quality of everything from sausage to hashbrowns is cheap and the happy fun light scene from everyone that usto work there is gone. Only one server from the group that has been there the last 3 years is left. It is one step above Dennys but not quite Bob Evans now. Usto come for breakfast every weekend with my daughter but will not be back.

Service was terrible. Took nearly 20 minutes for our order to be taken. Then, a big lack of attentiveness by our server. We had to wave them down for refills of drinks and other condiments on the table. He was just constantly behind the counter, talking to other employees. And, none of the employees were friendly or smiled. More like they seemed annoyed to be there working. Toast wasn't toasted but soggy.

This is a historical restaurant fur Kirkwood. Management needs to do better to maintain the integrity of this historical place.

Showed up and ordered immediately, it was only 2 pieces of French toast. I sat there for nearly 50 minutes watching the people who ordered at the same time as me get far more food, multiple groups sat down after and were fed all while I was ignored. When I asked the waitress had no clue I didn't receive my food (even though I only had a glass of water). One of the male workers gave me dirty looks when I complained as if it was my fault my order was somehow forgotten. I used my only free time this morning just to have it entirely wasted by terrible service.

My grandson is Spencer! Today we traveled over an hour to visit Spencer‘s Grill. I must say this was an amazing experience for the family. The service was phenomenal, food was amazing, and Spencer was stoked beyond belief. Special thank you to the young man in the white beanie , who made sure we were able to get T-shirts.
