Coming from out of state, we were looking into a few bookstores to check out while staying in STL. When we arrived, we were surprised to happen upon the open mic night that had just begun. We really enjoyed our time listening to each heartfelt artist who shared their music with us. The drinks we got were decent and they had a nice selection of books too. Regardless, the open mic night ended up being our favorite event of the evening. It was a very wholesome experience. Shout out to the dad and daughter Duo, Mixtape Romance!

What a charming little bookstore. The owner was very welcoming and hosted an intimate poetry reading on Sunday. Everyone was very friendly.

We were through many months ago.Meh.Why does this place exist? One man's ego, said my partner.Self published is also called vanity publishing. It takes a lot of confidence (I guess) and funding to publish one's own writing especially when those novels are written so poorly that the sentences barely make sense. If Fraternity of Fractures were a decor it would be Piss Elegant. This is library for unpublishable books. Life's losers, an astonishing number of whom seem to be writers, can bring their novels, where they will be welcomed, and shelved on commission of course. The owner has j*** written all over him which is his ... autobiography? We bought some tepid coffee which helped us leave quickly.

It's great for what it is. Reluctantly gave 5th star because I wasn't wildly impressed by anything in particular, but i also wasnt displeased. Chill atmosphere, decent drink menu, clean. Would recommend a visit.

Small but interesting book selection with a good selection for drinks. Jules was a brilliant barista!

What a great combination of ideas here! The bookstore is small, but is only local authored books. The cafe part offers many choices for coffee, teas, beer, wine, and mixed drinks. My only issue was with the acoustics. We were there for a presentation, and before it began, they were playing the music WAAAAY to loud for that size and type of room. It was painful! Other than that, I loved the place...
Amazing! Just Amazing! Can't wait to put my books on consignment!

Spine bookstore and Cafe has a wonderful warm, friendly atmosphere and carries a wide variety of indie books. As a community gathering place it is relaxing and fun and offers a nice variety of educational opportunities and great coffee. The staff is welcoming.

Staff is lovely and the coffee is delicious. Very charming location, good selection of books on a variety of topics. Sandwiches from Elaine's are available in the cold case and are delicious. Great place to hang for an afternoon coffee.Check out their vendor fairs they host on the street!
