This is a late review. Please ignore the 5 star rating as I cannot give them a fair rating since I didn’t dine there.
My husband and I stopped by the restaurant last Thursday February 12th about 5 minutes prior to their 5:00 dinner service. There was a sign on the door that there was no lunch service on Feb 13th but they would be open for dinner that day. No mention that they weren’t open on Thursday.
We waited until 5:10 and noticed no lights were on. Two other couples also stopped by and realized the restaurant wasn’t open. All of us walked away disappointed. I’m not sure we would return unless the owner provides a valid explanation for no dinner service on February 12th.
I have traveled to so many different states and tried so many sushi. This restaurant has left an impression on me, it is, so far, the best sushi I have ever had. The only thing That disappointed me are the open hours. It only opens in the every late afternoons.

Sushi Koi has always been my favorite little gem. I have enjoyed many great memories here, and amazing rolls and food. I have eaten Sushi everywhere and I know my fish well and Sushi Koi hits harder above its tier. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate , great for date nights or bringing friends. The best part of this was how fresh the fish was, how big the portions were and how accessible the price were. This year, there has been a huge inflation. The rolls went up $2-3 and some of the food experienced heavy increases. The salmon tataki went up from $21 to $30 and the salmon don went from $21 to $27.
My heart is broken and I am disappointed. I understand they need to keep up with inflation, but I didn't expect SUCH a price hike. I can't eat here as often anymore. This place is now competing against Omakase places like Sado and Indo. I can't give them less than 5 stars for food or service because the FOOD is good and the service is amazing, but this has really went from a diamond to just another bougie Japanese restaurant like many others that I can just eat in Chicago, Boston or New York. Really lost a lot of its charm.
I'm sad but I will still recommend people to eat.

The food and the staff at Koi were so wonderful! I don’t usually do reviews but this place was great. They even went above and beyond to help my navigate my way through some temporary dietary restrictions. Absolutely 100% recommend and will be back any and every time I’m in St. Louis.

This place has changed since the last time I was there. Was great sushi. I ordered it for delivery this past weekend and each roll was way over sauced with mayo mix and the spicy tuna definitely was off. Didn't taste like spicy tuna and actually tasted rotten. I threw half my $150 sushi platter away. Very disappointing because I used to love this place.

It’s a small spot, but its food is to die for. I think i inhaled my food after one bite.
The gyoza and soft shell crab were very good! We also really enjoyed the sushi. We got the central west end, Euclid and triple s.
