This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Hands down. Horrible location no parking and horrible for dogs. No fridge in the rooms. The list is endless.

Willie down at breakfast was amazing. He turned around our lackluster experience with his kindness and conversation at breakfast. Would come back for Willie.

Terrible experience even before checking in! The receptionist was unbelievably rude and completely unwilling to solve a problem that I’ve never encountered in ANY other IHG hotel! Her answer?! “This is St. Louis, that’s how we do it here…” The result: reservation canceled and goodbye forever!

Parking is rough at this hotel. The AC/Heater is controlled by a central unit. I’ve never been to a hotel that doesn’t let you control your own temperature. I don’t recommend this hotel

The rooms are good but the front door is broken so lack of security in downtown is alarming

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my experience at Hotel Indigo in downtown St. Louis was so upsetting I feel like others need to be warned.

After a 5-hour drive through storms and an active tornado warning I arrived around 4 PM, a full hour after check-in time, simply hoping to rest for a moment before a concert and a romantic weekend with my husband. Instead, I was met with immediate coldness and dismissiveness.

What stood out the most and honestly hurt the most was the blatant difference in how I was treated compared to other guests. As I stood at the counter, exhausted and calm, I watched the front desk woman light up with warmth and friendliness toward every guest of color. She greeted them with genuine smiles, gentle tones, and helpful explanations—even when their rooms weren’t ready either. She made sure they felt welcome.

Meanwhile, I was barely acknowledged. No smile. No apology. No kindness. When I quietly asked about my room, she talked over me, got louder than necessary, and treated me like I was causing a problem when all I wanted was the room I paid for.

It wasn’t just disappointing, it was infuriating. We were on a tight schedule, and instead of having a smooth check-in and a moment to breathe, we were left standing there frustrated and praying we’d even have enough time to get ready for the concert. The tone, the body language, the selective hospitality it was all painfully obvious.

This was meant to be a special weekend after nearly a year of marriage, and the experience started with anxiety and stress instead of joy.

Do better, Hotel Indigo. Hospitality should be fair and consistent for every guest, every time.

Stass is very friendly. The cleanliness of the room was horrible. The comforter had what appeared to be dried blood. The lighting in the room distorts the actual color of the picture. How housekeeping didn't notice that when cleaning/making the bed, is mind-blowing.

Bed bugs! This hotel has bed bugs in room 601. Took video of them crawling on our pillows and showed the staff and sent to the management. We got back from our concert at 11pm and found them. We left and was told by the front desk clerk we wouldn’t be charged since we were leaving before midnight and didn’t stay. We were charged and they are not refunding our money even with video evidence. DO NOT STAY HERE! Not only bed bugs but also the dirtiest IHG hotel we have ever been to.

We found bed bugs. When we went and told the clerk and the desk he apologized and said he refunded the room but low and behold he did not and now the hotel won’t refund us saying they didn’t find bed bugs. These are pics from a video of the bed bugs crawling on our pillows. DO NOT STAY HERE. It’s gross and mismanaged. 0 customer service.

Bed bugs in room and hotel management denied it.

Slightly small but historic building. Friendly staff and easy parking on street being Saturday and Sunday.

Rooms: Clean and unique. Little small but cute and nice view.

Nearby activities: Arch and riverboat. Great places to eat and shop. All within walking.

Safety: Compatible to all big cities. From Cleveland area so St. Louis seemed about same.

Noteworthy details: The staff is exceptional. Bartender and house keeping stood out the most.

How this hotel hasn’t been deflagged yet is beyond me. The service is abhorrent, with staff members annoyed that you’re there to checkin, more concerned about talking to each other in the back than helping their guests in the restaurant (I was there in plenty of time to order before breakfast close, and then got denied because no one came to help me until after the time they serve), staff coming into my room without knocking, fire alarms going off with no communication to guests, being cat called in the lobby, and not being able to get into the hotel with a key at night- you have to wait for a staff member to come let you in… good luck.
Phones in the room don’t work, hope you don’t have an emergency.

No sense of safety or comfortability that I expect from an IHG hotel… most of which I would sing endless praises. As a hotelier myself, it takes a lot for me to write a review. Beyond disappointed in this experience.

IHG, if you’re reading this, they miss every major pillar. I highly recommend a deflag… at the very least a blind audit is needed.

This is absolutely the worst hotel experience. This is a raggedy Motel 6 with Hotel Indigo stamped on it! No hotel parking, surrounded around dilapidated buildings, hood front desk and no amenities AT ALL! Called the General Manager this morning after almost a week that I have not received the 75 hold back to my account. He gets combative with me and talks over me and pushes the issue back to my bank. I’m in hotels every other week and I’m use to the 50-75 hold fee but this is the longest it has taken for me to get this hold back. I’m just utterly disappointed and will not stay at this location again. Too many high quality hotels for us to settle for this dump. Shut it down!!!!!
