The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the service was outstanding. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to others.

I’ve been a loyal fan of Tai Ke since they first opened back in 2016ish. Back then, they were the first and only place in our 'little village' of STL where you could get real Taiwanese soul food. Before Tai Ke, I used to wait until I visited California or the Shilin Night Market in LA just to get a fix of Three Cup Chicken (三杯鸡), Fly's Head (苍蝇头), or Popcorn Chicken.

I still remember their original location—tucked away in that quiet plaza on Olive near the highway. It wasn't even facing the main street, yet the place was so legendary that the entire 'dead' plaza would be overflowing with cars. That site has since been cleared for the new Costco development, but Tai Ke survived the move further west on Olive and even added Shabu Shabu to their repertoire.
While the crazy hour-long waits of the early days have calmed down a bit (usually about 10 minutes now), the food quality remains top-tier. They still have a total monopoly on items you just can't find elsewhere in STL, like Pig’s Blood Cake (猪血糕) and Small Sausage in Big Sausage (大肠包小肠). Their Fried Chicken Cutlet and Gua Bao are still my absolute favorites.
A quick tip for fellow diners: I noticed their direct online ordering went down since 2024, and DoorDash prices are marked up nearly 50% (DoorDash is truly brutal with those fees!). It is much better to call in or pick up directly to support the business and save your wallet.

Taike is one of my favorite Taiwanese restaurant to go to. Food is very authentic, delicious and service is fast! The restaurant is pretty small, with less than 10 tables with a big bar area. My favorites are the deep friend walnut mayo shrimp and popcorn chicken.

I don't think St Louis realizes how lucky it is to have a Taiwanese restaurant. Definitely go check it out

Came from out of town to try the pork belly and fermented vegetables. Nice thick cuts, but it was lacking in flavor. I wouldn't order that particular dish again, but they probably have something tasty here.
