STANDING OVATIONAll the food was amazing but this was far more than dinner out. I am a total foodie and had romantic ideas of what a Supper Club experience would be like and this exceeded my expectations. Lovely live music, beautiful setting, amazing food, great service, amazing conversation with friends and NEVER felt rushed as they do not turn tables.Amy and Vito Racanelli have thought through every detail you can imagine and along with their staffs were amazing hosts for the evening. We arrived at 6:30pm and closed the place down a little past 10pm. Not once did we feel rushed. In fact, I felt like I was in someone’s private space where they truly cared for our well being. This was our first time at Tempus and some of the things that stuck out to me were all the service wear; plates, serving dishes and cutlery were all beautiful and part of the experience. The tables are all beautifully hand-crafted by a local woodworker and during dinner I found myself studying the grains of the table as it was so beautiful.Ok now for the food and beverage overview. I started with an old-fashioned and it was amazing. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling white wine, I highly recommend the 2020 Saint-Hillaire, Blanquette de Limoux, France – great deal at $38! I am so grateful that the foodie friends who went with us love to try lots of things so we shared EVERYTHING and got to taste so much. There was an amuse-bouche that they brought to the table with a roasted eggplant on toast points and a cucumber with some sort of whipped cheese on top. This was a great way to awaken our taste buds. We then had Smoked Trout with Toast Points which were perfect texture and flavor. Next were 2 Waldorf Salads with the plates and salad properly chilled and perfectly dressed. Excellent and not to be missed. Before our entrees arrived, we ordered the bottle of Pinot Noir which paired very nicely with the rest of the meal that was on the way. For our entrees we had the Local Pork Schnitzel - GENEROUS portion and perfectly crispy. We also shared the local Roasted Amish Chicken. I am always amazed at how the quality of chicken can impact the flavors and texture of your eating experience. They have surely curated from an amazing farm not just the chicken but all the ingredients. To accompany the entrees we had the Creamed Spinach and Local Sautéed Mushrooms – do not miss either of these sides they were PERFECT!!! The mushrooms in particular were a variety of shapes, sizes and textures adding a bit of complexity eaten alongside both the pork and chicken. We finished off with 2 hot fudge sundaes (Chocolate Fudge and Butterscotch) and the Chocolate Layer Cake. We finished off cleansing our palates with some homemade Limoncello. As a foodie, when I have a great meal I like to pop my head in the kitchen at the end of a meal and thank everyone. My jaw dropped at how clean and organized this kitchen was at the end of a very busy evening which is true testament to the care and pride everyone has for the work they do. I am sure I have not done the evening experience justice but we plan to go again and bring more friends along for the experience but only if they are willing to share what we order as there is too much good stuff. In summary, it was a lovely evening and a great memory we will share with our friends.

Amazing flavors, presentation, ambiance and service. The French onion soup was probably the best I've ever had in my life. Fully expected to pay way more than we did for what we got. A+ will be returning.

Waiter was aloof, disinterested, or flustered, but generally not too helpful. They didn't know the menu, were a bit impatient, and someone was annoyingly hovering with a flash camera throughout the night.Food was well planned but not well executed. Dry rolls, undercooked ratatouille, overcooked trout. The ravioli were really good as was the dessert, but I believe the cake was brought in from a local bakery and it stole the show.Overall it was an ambitious yet clunky experience, but maybe that's normal of pop ups of this variety. If you want that disjoint, opening night, working the kinks out excitement at the going rate of a nice sit down, then forgo the traditional and let the Tempus team of caterers play restaurant for you.

We went for the Valentine's Day dinner. It was French cuisine. The steak I had was covered in pepper. Like full peppercorns on the plate. I would take a bite and I was chewing on pepper. The service was fine but they have no right to charge the amount they do for food. I brought up my issues with the dish to the waiter and he told me that that was the way it was supposed to be. Food was good but not $80 good. They were out of a few things. Honestly just a major disappointment. Would not recommend.

Our company Christmas party of about 30 people was hosted at Tempus this year and everything was fantastic. Amy and Vito are excellent communicators and made sure to tailor the menu to our needs with no hesitation. My staff loved the food and the service was very attentive and warm. David at the bar kept the drinks coming and even made a great mocktail for a pregnant patron. We wouldn't hesitate to book again. It is a really great space for a medium sized gathering -- the fact that you get the entire place to yourself is quite special. Thanks Tempus team for your work to make our event really fun.

For the price, the food just was not very good. The waiter encouraged me to get the mushroom dinner and it truthfully tasted like dirt. Also, the pork steak was dry and for the cost, it should have been fantastic. The only food enjoyable was the bread appetizer.

Dont go there. The only restaurant that is very strict about vaccination cards. Tgey also did not want to seat us because one of our party is missing. They would also charge you 50 $ per person if you dont show in time.

You’ve got to visit Tempus STL. I’ve visited Tempus for standard dinner service and for their Friends of James Beard tasting menu. Simply put, it’s exquisite. The flavors in each and every dish work together perfectly. And, each dish is cooked perfectly. The service is perfect, but slightly fussy for my liking. Nonetheless, the waiters were knowledgeable, polite, and helpful each visit. Lastly, the design and decor are flawless! Do visit.

We tried Tempus for our anniversary after reading a good review and we're not disappointed. Great food and great service.

Terrific food, beautiful restaurant, and we'll never go back. Even by today's standards of form being more important than function, the acoustics were absolutely awful. Even with the restaurant less than half full, the people at our table for four couldn't hear each other talking without yelling. Absolutely nothing has been done to keep the noise level done. This is an expensive restaurant and the food is worth every penny. But when we go to dinner with friends, it is a social outing and nothing about this place allows you to be social. A real shame -- you'd think something could be done to address this issue.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. Usually in a place like this, I expect a little more from the bar. I found the food to be incredibly flavorful but the drink pairing fell short. I'd expect the pairings to be thoughtful and to brighten up the food in a sense but that didn't happen. I also asked for a cocktail at the end of the night with my favorite spirit and the bar manager or bartender sadly couldnt come through with something delicious so I gave it to my date. Im rarely picky when it comes to drinks but this bar manager (if there even is one) is definitely not pairing well with this restaurant.
