We were here for a work event. The decor is rad! The speakeasy was downstairs. And there is a second floor with seating that was a very good view of the first floor. Everyone was very friendly.

I just held my wedding at this venue. I’m overwhelmed by the amazing staff, seamless logistics, support, and overall professionalism. If you’re considering having your wedding here, you should do it. I had the most perfect wedding, all thanks to these amazing people.

I guess I was expecting a bit more from a place like this? It’s a super cool idea and spot, maybe just doesn’t have the crowd/following?

I went on a Saturday night and there were 3 other people there… bartenders didn’t seem very chatty, and the drinks are overpriced so i get that it draws an older crowd. I assumed since it’s only open certain days/times and uses a password that it would have had a line out the door.

It’s cool for the novelty, event or a fancy date i suppose.

WOW! That's what the Thaxton did for my night! All my guests LOVED the place and the service and the drinks and the password and William! Thank you for facilitating a great 60th birthday party!

Picked this place to propose to my partner and was entirely impressed with the whole experience. Drinks were amazing and well crafted, the service was awesome, and the owner made sure to stop by with flowers and champagne. Definitely felt the love and enjoyed the atmosphere so much!!

Went here for my daughter's wedding. They booked it after seeing the wonderfully preserved building and art Deco styling. A huge place for special events. She worked through the owner directly who provided the master of ceremonies and helped with catering as well. It was like a one stop shopping. The wedding turned out great. Can only speak of having this event there, but would love to go back and experience the speakeasy as it is day to day. You can go wrong.

Attended a wedding reception here last night. It was an absolutely perfect venue. The tables upstairs were spaced nicely and the entire venue was very elegant. Downstairs we enjoyed a DJ and bar with seating spaced throughout and a dance floor. Perfect speak easy vibe in a historic building. Definitely recommend.

The best amaretto sour you can ever get. 10/10. I will come back every time I visit St. Louis.

Our phones were dead, and we could not retrieve the password. We explained this, but it didn’t matter to the woman at the door. Poor service in my opinion

I would give them a zero if I could. I was unable to find the password through their instagram or website. Arrived at 10:45 from out of town on a Thursday and they wouldn’t allow us in. Not worth your time, plenty of other great cocktails bars in the area!

We held our wedding at The Thaxton and had an amazing experience! The venue is breathtaking and unique, the staff is attentive and fun, and the price was very reasonable. If you are looking for a really cool place to hold a small wedding or special event, we highly recommend considering The Thaxton! Our guests are still talking about how great great the wedding was!

We came about 20 minutes after opening with a party of 8 celebrating a birthday and were turned away stating there was a waitlist and could only fit 7 people. The doorman was quite rude and appeared to not be interested in letting us in. We were fine with waiting but after that interaction, we took our business elsewhere.

Top shelf venue, with loads of history and character! Our rehearsal dinner was a great success and came off without a hitch!
