I would give them a zero if I could. I was unable to find the password through their instagram or website. Arrived at 10:45 from out of town on a Thursday and they wouldn’t allow us in. Not worth your time, plenty of other great cocktails bars in the area!

We held our wedding at The Thaxton and had an amazing experience! The venue is breathtaking and unique, the staff is attentive and fun, and the price was very reasonable. If you are looking for a really cool place to hold a small wedding or special event, we highly recommend considering The Thaxton! Our guests are still talking about how great great the wedding was!

We came about 20 minutes after opening with a party of 8 celebrating a birthday and were turned away stating there was a waitlist and could only fit 7 people. The doorman was quite rude and appeared to not be interested in letting us in. We were fine with waiting but after that interaction, we took our business elsewhere.

A fun little club, even for an old boring couple like us. Bartenders were the bee's knees. The vibe was the cat's pajamas - Prohibition-era basement gin mill speakeasy. You probably even see a few gents dressed to the nines in their suspenders, bow ties, and dames all dolled-up in flapper dresses. Get the password, enter through the back alley so the cops don't catch on. It'll run ya five clams to get in.
The best speakeasy in StL, and definitely one of the coolest spots for a drink I’ve ever been to anywhere! A surreal, dream-like atmosphere with a vast selection of unique cocktails to indulge in (side note - their Amaretto Sour is made in-house from scratch and is to die for). The service at the Thaxton is top-tier! Kim and her superb team helped turn our night out into an unforgettable experience. The staff are not only welcoming and knowledgeable; they’re also very accommodative and attentive to the smallest of details.
If you’re in Saint Louis, even if it’s just for a weekend, I highly recommend you check out the Thaxton Speakeasy.
