I loved The Benevolent King’s new menu. Chef Elliot is a master! His creations are both delicious and beautiful! The nachos (like nothing you’ve ever had), Godzilla roll and tuna nigiri are just a few of my favorites! The atmosphere is like something you’d experience in NYC! We loved it!

Zachary takes lots of pride in all areas of this gem of restaurant. The menu is unique, well balanced and delicious. The dessert is delicious. Go there on a date or with very close friends.

The restaurant has recently changed to a Japanese themed menu, and the food is delicious! The atmosphere was terrific before the menu change and is still a fantastic date spot.

New menu is not exciting nor good. Service was slow, but at no fault to the our server. The kitchen was behind. For what’s being provided the food is overpriced.

Seemed like it would have been a great place, but they notified me with less than 2 weeks warning that they would be changing concepts to a Japanese restaurant the day after Valentines day. At time of posting there has still been no official announcement about this on their social media, nor were they able to offer me a sample menu. It was extremely difficult to find availability at another at a comparable restaurant for Valentines day weekend. This seems really poorly executed on behalf of management and ownership. Feeling like I dodged a bullet for my special occasion if this is any indication of how the restaurant is run.

I had a memorable dinner with my husband at Benevolent King. The staff was very attentive, kind, and helpful when selecting our dishes. The oysters, braised octopus, lamb meatballs, and sugar witch vegan ice cream sandwich we're all delicious, well seasoned/balanced, and not overly sauced/salty. Definitely, we will be returning to try the same and new dishes in the future.

This place is good, borderline great. The small plates are a great way to try a couple of different dishes. The problem I had with this place is probably a 'me problem'. Nothing really transcended, nothing popped, my socks stayed firmly on. I may have expected too much given the other reviews.Try it, you may love it - you may just like it. Either way, I think you'll walk away happy.

I was at first skeptical looking at the menu a few months back…but I decided to try it and it far exceeded my expectations. My palate is elevated from that dining experience. Every plate we ordered was delicious, drinks and service were phenomenal too. Our favorite dishes were the poached apples, briouat, and Oysters Rockefeller. This is an excellent date night spot!

We went here during parent's weekend and it was great. All set up for Halloween with servers in costume. The theme is smallMiddle eastern plates and fantastic cocktails. We had an octopus dish that might have been one of the best I have ever tasted. The pitas and dips were to die for. Lamb meatballs gigantic and delicious over couscous. Falafel was excellent. Also Moroccan cigars dusted with cinnamon tasted almost churro like. Scallops were amazing as were the oysters! Desserts were bomb too. Every bite was an absolute delight. We had a great time with excellent service. Found a spot out front. I'd come back here on a heartbeat.

EXCELLENT food. We’ll balanced, thoughtful flavor combinations and excellent service. Cocktails were superior quality as well. The decor is a bit odd- certainly doesn’t seem to match the quality of the food, but didn’t effect the experience.Vegetarian options: Thoughtful, flavorful vegetarian options.

We had diner here tonight and it was delicious. They have a great selection of small plates and cocktails. We tried the lamb meatballs and tuna tartar. Both were rich and delicious. Pictured is the Salatim. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but all the dipping sauces were amazing. The cocktails were good. The waiter suggested a black Manhattan and I found it to be a little nuttier than expected but not in a bad way. I would get it again. Overall, good experience and would recommend.

I was sold on dining at The Benevolent King by the following review: “Love this place. Jews love the gloops and so should you.” I was looking for a place to dine with my friend for her birthday during Jewish high holy days. The previous reviewer was correct. My Jewish friend did love the gloops. We had the Salatim: zaalouk, charred tomato, baba ghanoush. Served with pita. Poached honeycrisp apples, feta, oil cured olives, mint (my absolute favorite). Cold smoked salmon, labne, tomato, latke, smoked trout roe. Chermula charred chicken, shitake-garlic rice, blistered shishitos.Everything was delicious but I highly recommend the Poached honeycrisp apples and the Cold smoked salmon. The staff was amazing! I can’t wait to go back!

I don't know where to begin. Food choices were bad, and the food itself was even worse. Cool little spot though.
