One of the best keeps secrets in St. Louis. Chris makes an amazing old fashion. If you check this place out, you won’t regret it. It turns into a speakeasy one month out of the year.
I only went for drinks and sit at the bar. Bartender was nice and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere.
Great overall service food and drinks.

Absolutely fell in love with the vibe the minute I walked in. It’s got that moody English pub energy, with an incredible fireplace that fills the room with warmth (and the best kind of woodsmoke). The drinks are consistently great. Service? Hit or miss. We’ve had a few unfriendly encounters and a couple decent ones—but never anyone who made us feel especially welcome. Still, we keep going back for the atmosphere.

We enjoy stopping in the Fox & Hounds when we are in the area, especially with friends. The atmosphere is very unique in a fun, quirky way. Their drinks are creative, but very stiff (just be aware.)

Wow, my wife and I visited The Cheshire Hotel on our first night. We were too tired to go anywhere else, and Basso’s had a 120 minute wait. Upon seating, we realized we had to go to the bar to order. Looking at the menu, we both felt a bit disappointed in the offerings. We both opted for the burger, and my wife upgraded our fries to loaded fries with fried pickles so we could share them.
Let me tell you, our mouths dropped and our eyes stared at each other after we took our first bite into the burger! The bacon, cheese, and flavor were mind-blowing…by far the best burger I’ve ever had! Our loaded fries and fried pickles were also amazing!
And the best part? It’s not overpriced!
Now, something to keep in mind is that the restaurant has limited seating and a dark, rustic environment. So, if you’re hard of seeing, be prepared.
However, my wife and I both agree that this is a place you must visit to enjoy the full experience!
Feels like you're really in a British pub. Inside The Cheshire hotel; may need to park under the building. Only a handful of food choices; full bar - comfortable seating and a fireplace. The ambiance is amazing.
Bring back the bookcase!

Great intimate english pub. Service is top-notch. Haven't tried the food but have heard good things.
The food was mediocre, which was somewhat expected (midwestern cuisine isn’t really my cup of tea). However, the service was a disappointment. The bartender came off as socially inept — and technologically inept. He also displayed a palpable attitude as soon as I attempted to order. While the food was passable, the overall experience was a letdown, especially if you’re accustomed to better service. I’d advise dining elsewhere if basic hospitality is a priority for you.
My husband and I went to the Fox and Hound for a drink by the fire. We ordered at the bar and sat in chairs by the fire. It's so very cozy especially when the temperature is in the single digits.
The bartender was impressive.
