Good luck dealing with the food and beverage group to plan an event in the Lobby Lounge. Disastrous. Stressed me out. Terrible lack of communication and follow up. It was a horrible waste of time and energy when i was trying to pay them thousands of dollars to book a surprise party. Go somewhere else or just show up. Prices there are ridiculously high and customer service is horrendous.
Quick and high quality sushi here at the Ritz Lobby Bar. Nothing says “I might be high maintenance but I’m also in a rush” quite like knocking back high-quality oysters and sushi in a freshly remodeled luxury hotel lobby. It’s giving sophisticated speed date and I’m here for it.
Let’s start with the remodel. It’s clean, it’s shiny, it smells like expensive hand lotion. You’ll probably want to Instagram your drink. Or your shoes. Or both. But pro tip, and I cannot stress this enough: grab the seats by the fireplace. Do it. I don’t care if it’s July. Those seats say “I know what I’m doing.”
Now to the food. The oysters are slurp-worthy. Briny little ocean hugs. The sushi is legit, considering you’re in a lobby. But let’s not beat around the spicy tuna ha! the Clayton roll is the moment. Whoever rolled it clearly had divine inspiration or at least watched a lot of Chef’s Table.
Come for the oysters, stay for the fireplace, and pretend you’re on a sushi-fueled power move.
Exceptional Omakase at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis.
Last night, we had the privilege of experiencing the omakase dinner at The Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis, and it was truly outstanding. This experience rivaled some of the best omakase meals I’ve had in Japan, both in quality and execution.
Chef Joseph is a master of his craft, curating a beautifully paced progression of courses that highlighted the freshest ingredients, impeccable technique, and a deep understanding of flavor. From the melt-in-your-mouth toro to delicately balanced seasonal selections, every piece was a testament to precision and artistry.
Beyond the food, Chef Joseph’s warm and engaging personality made the evening even more special. He took the time to explain each course, creating an interactive and immersive experience that added to the enjoyment of the meal. His passion for sushi and dedication to perfection were evident in every bite.
The setting at The Ritz provided the perfect backdrop—intimate, refined, and ideal for appreciating the craftsmanship of a truly elevated omakase experience. St. Louis may not be the first place that comes to mind for world-class sushi, but this omakase is a hidden gem that should not be missed.
If you’re a sushi enthusiast or simply looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Chef Joseph and his team deliver something truly special. I’ll definitely be back!
Let me know if this works or if you’d like any further refinements!
Honestly at a luxe hotel bar you’re pretty much just not looking to be disappointed. Can’t say that was the case tonight. Ordered a few bar snacks and two drinks while we decided where to go for dinner. Very surprised there wasn’t a single nonalcoholic wine available. The fries were soggy to the point of wet—not sure how that happened within 5 minutes of being open. The tempura prawns were limp over battered and tiny (if they were prawns, I’m a mermaid). The arancini was the lone bright spot in that I was interested in having a second.
The atmosphere was clean and bright, no music. Would have been easy to work.

This was a special event : bubbles & blooms. Have to say that the atmosphere was the best part. Other than that, it was severely overpriced for what it was. You receive three tiny tea sandwiches. Our waitress only let us sample two out of the three teas. And then there's three tiny tea, desserts. I did not want the desserts and was not allowed to trade out for sandwiches instead. You had to pay $20 per glass of bubbles. You were charged an extraordinate tax plus Mandatory 25% gratuity. And the flowers were underwhelming. They did not remember to acknowledge my friend's bday eventhough it was preplanned and discussed- and there was signage for other bdays on tables. I would not come again!
This is specifically regarding the High Tea Service, which was $120 per person plus $10 for parking. We were seated outside on a cold windy day, however we were offered pashminas which made a world of difference. The hot tea helped as well, however it would have been a good idea to have tea cozy's covering the pot to keep it warm as it cooled very quickly outside. The sandwiches and desserts were attractive, yet some were a bit stale. Overall, it was a mediocre and over priced experience.
The atmosphere here shifts often depending on events, attendants. There is sometimes music. Drinks and service are good, sushi is good.
Without asking, Yudana brought me hot tea and water as we had breakfast because I had a cough. Charming place for breakfast. Loved the Ritz!
Went to the Ritz last night for their New Years Celebration. My shoe strap broke when walking in and I didn’t know what to do. But the staff there saved the day. I’ve never experienced such amazing hospitality. They saw me struggling and came to my rescue. Shoutout to Kenna for helping me. She not only offered a solution, but she sat on the floor and took 10 minutes to fix my shoe herself. All of the staff are so amazing and kind. My shoe stayed on all night and I was able to fully enjoy their amazing party. Thank you guys again ❤️
My server was excellent. Started off with her bringing a free snack tray to start. I had a hamburger and one thing I learned about that area is that they take their burgers seriously. Very good, juicy burger. The gooey cake was delicious.

It’s a lovely hotel and Valerie in the lounge was an amazing server. She rocks. Disappointed no one told us at check in that breakfast ended at 10 AM on a Saturday!! We were not doing room service. Pleasantly surprised and highly recommend Coleen’s Cafe a very short walk away!! Wonderful welcoming staff and food was affordable and delicious. Ritz misses the mark and gets a 3 for lack of awareness that breakfast on the weekend should run until 2. Especially with their wedding clientele and their families coming in from around the country. A reconsideration should be on the agenda!!
Amazing Sushi!! Great service!!
The Lobby Lounge is one of the best places around for a home cooked meal. The chicken fried steak and hamburger steaks are the bomb!
Amazing Sushi!! Great service!!
Outstanding. This large lobby living room serves up outstanding drinks, high-quality wine options and good food. The very relaxing and open seating make this a favorite place to relax with family and friends. Great service. In normal times (non-Covid), there is usually a band in the lobby bar Friday-Saturday. Always great service and well-decorated for the holidays. Remember you are at the Ritz-Carlton, so red wines are $14-30 a glass, for example.
