The omakase dinner at the sushi bar at the Ritz is absolutely incredible! The sushi was exquisite and it was so much fun to hear the chefs describe each dish and share the inspiration behind their creations. The experience is a bit costly, but well worth it. I have already booked a seat for the next dinner! If you love Japanese cuisine, this is not to be missed!

Food was excellent as was the service, but, it was too freaking loud. We went there because we love to travel to Japan and this would fill my itch for a nice Japanese tasting menu. But, because it was so loud we could barely hear the chef speaking, but conversation to the person next to you was difficult. Overall, probably won't do it again unless the acoustics change.

Went in for an event reservation that was directed through open table, but apparently the reservation was scheduled the day after the event ended. Staff was very friendly an accommodating by helping us reschedule and we were able to spend time at the sushi bar which was a fun experience. Price is a bit high but expected for a hotel restaurants.

Loved the event. The room and the tone were perfect. But I thought the service was a little lacking for the price of the party. I've been to tea rooms for far less money and gotten more personalize service about the food. And the tea service was nice, but again, just missed something special to elevate it and make it worth the cost of the event. However, we had a fantastic time.

I wish I could recommend the Bubbles & Bloom afternoon tea at the Ritz. It should be amazing & special; it's certainly priced accordingly. Unfortunately, the experience, food, & service just did not live up to expectations. I paid $778.32 for 3 mimosas and afternoon tea for 4 people (this did not include the champagne experience which is even more $$!) A 25% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. One would hope for impeccable service for this amount, but our service was clunky, at best. Not particularly knowledgeable or helpful. One would at least expect the experience to commensurate with its high dollar value. It is not. For the price they charge, the champagne should be included in the cost of the tea. Valet parking could easily be included. I have experienced quite a few splurge meals/experiences where I did not mind paying the high dollar amount-because the food/service/experience was worth it. This was nowhere close. My dining companions and I have already decided we can put on a similar afternoon tea experience at home, and we can easily surpass the quality of food served ourselves. The savory dishes were fine at best. The desserts were very disappointing- cute, definitely, IG post-worthy for sure, but did they taste good? Not really! Not worth the calories IMO. The best dish was definitely the scone, & the (I assume) housemade apricot jam & cherry curd were very good. The tea served to us was warm/tepid- not even our first glass was hot, and it just got colder! We got to make & take home a flower bouquet & a vase, which was nice, but being one of the last parties to go up there, there were hardly any good flowers left. The person putting the bouquets together did not do a good job of allowing flowers to be evenly distributed amongst guests. I thought I paid for the experience 3 times-once when booking through Open Table, once when completing the Ritz's credit card authorization form, & finally, when I actually did pay- after the experience itself.

The tea was quite a fun experience! Beautiful setting, staff was accommodating and the flower station was fun!

Good luck dealing with the food and beverage group to plan an event in the Lobby Lounge. Disastrous. Stressed me out. Terrible lack of communication and follow up. It was a horrible waste of time and energy when i was trying to pay them thousands of dollars to book a surprise party. Go somewhere else or just show up. Prices there are ridiculously high and customer service is horrendous.

The service for the Bubbles and Bloom event was INCREDIBLE! My guest was running very late and the staff went out of their way to make me comfortable and welcome. The execution of this event was beautiful and thoughtful. It had all of the special touches that made it really lovely and fun. The person running the event is remarkable and very engaged and engaging. The tea, champagne, and treats were so fun, pretty, delightful, and delicious.

Quick and high quality sushi here at the Ritz Lobby Bar. Nothing says “I might be high maintenance but I’m also in a rush” quite like knocking back high-quality oysters and sushi in a freshly remodeled luxury hotel lobby. It’s giving sophisticated speed date and I’m here for it.

Let’s start with the remodel. It’s clean, it’s shiny, it smells like expensive hand lotion. You’ll probably want to Instagram your drink. Or your shoes. Or both. But pro tip, and I cannot stress this enough: grab the seats by the fireplace. Do it. I don’t care if it’s July. Those seats say “I know what I’m doing.”

Now to the food. The oysters are slurp-worthy. Briny little ocean hugs. The sushi is legit, considering you’re in a lobby. But let’s not beat around the spicy tuna ha! the Clayton roll is the moment. Whoever rolled it clearly had divine inspiration or at least watched a lot of Chef’s Table.

Come for the oysters, stay for the fireplace, and pretend you’re on a sushi-fueled power move.

Exceptional Omakase at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis.

Last night, we had the privilege of experiencing the omakase dinner at The Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis, and it was truly outstanding. This experience rivaled some of the best omakase meals I’ve had in Japan, both in quality and execution.

Chef Joseph is a master of his craft, curating a beautifully paced progression of courses that highlighted the freshest ingredients, impeccable technique, and a deep understanding of flavor. From the melt-in-your-mouth toro to delicately balanced seasonal selections, every piece was a testament to precision and artistry.

Beyond the food, Chef Joseph’s warm and engaging personality made the evening even more special. He took the time to explain each course, creating an interactive and immersive experience that added to the enjoyment of the meal. His passion for sushi and dedication to perfection were evident in every bite.

The setting at The Ritz provided the perfect backdrop—intimate, refined, and ideal for appreciating the craftsmanship of a truly elevated omakase experience. St. Louis may not be the first place that comes to mind for world-class sushi, but this omakase is a hidden gem that should not be missed.

If you’re a sushi enthusiast or simply looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Chef Joseph and his team deliver something truly special. I’ll definitely be back!

Let me know if this works or if you’d like any further refinements!

Ritz Carlton asked us to book here for NYE at their Lobby Lounge for which we paid $100 in advance. Then they started giving out tickets complementary for hotel guests. We didn't get a table, in spite of having paid, and booked ahead and staying at the hotel. We didn't get our champagne toast. We were told they would refund us, but nothing refunded so far.

Advertised as table for 2 available. Few tables set up so no tables for 2 available. Service was excellent, however.

Honestly at a luxe hotel bar you’re pretty much just not looking to be disappointed. Can’t say that was the case tonight. Ordered a few bar snacks and two drinks while we decided where to go for dinner. Very surprised there wasn’t a single nonalcoholic wine available. The fries were soggy to the point of wet—not sure how that happened within 5 minutes of being open. The tempura prawns were limp over battered and tiny (if they were prawns, I’m a mermaid). The arancini was the lone bright spot in that I was interested in having a second.

The atmosphere was clean and bright, no music. Would have been easy to work.

Teddy Bear Tea We have enjoyed this event annually for many years. The savory portion and the tea options were average at best. The dessert portion was excellent. It is way overpriced but still a neat event. Honestly though we will likely skip the tea in future years and just do happy hour at the sushi bar instead. The Tea price is close to the price of afternoon tea at the Plaza in NYC but does not hold a candle to the Plaza's tea.

They didn't have the reservation but quickly setup a for my daughter, wife and mother. They loved the experience.
