As an avid patron of the original Brennan's, I was excited to finally try Maryland House after reading about the owner's vision to replicate the upstairs at Brennan's. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for my disappointment to hit. Immediately upon walking in I was met with a room with no flow, disjointed furniture and decorations, and the look of somewhere that doesn't know what it wants to be. Once we were seated, it was nearly impossible to order drinks despite the fact the place was half empty. Oh, and that point is relevant for another reason: the door man/receptionist acted like he did us a favor letting us in without a reservation. Maybe he had to keep half of the place empty in case any "members" who pay $1k+ annually decided to show up? Maryland House is a disgrace to the original Brennan's and Mandarin. But hey, at least the bathroom sink is still the same!

I look forward to having my birthday party tomorrow in the Gallery with 50 people. I have been communicating with the Maryland House to reserve the Gallery and the hors d'oeuvres for a month now. I am excited to see how my guests will like the Gallery. I am still waiting for the Maryland House to answer some questions, but I hope they will get back to me before my event. I will update you on how my experience was! I am giving three starts as a neutral rating for now! After the event:The lady staff made me feel special - I give a 10/10 to the lady staff! I reserved the Gallery for my birthday party and was expected between 33 and 55 people (I know, big range).Jacq was very helpful and we had our own bar for the event. My guests liked the food and the drinks. I brought my own cake and the waiters helped us. We had a lot of fun. I have to contact the Maryland House because some of my guest were charged more than we expected. Overall, I had a pleasing experience.Vegetarian options: Some of my friends are vegetarian so they really appreciated the cheeses, the goat cheese, and the garlic confit. My friends who did not eat charcuterie liked the shrimp and salmon!

I'm a huge fan of Brennan's, so after walking in there for a quick nightcap for my sisters Birthday and it being packed, they sent us this way. It's a little hard to find as it's in an alley and the room you enter just looks like a woman in an office, but you go to her and she sends you up to the correct floor for the bar. We popped in on a Saturday evening and they happened to have space which was awesome. The waitress told us to come back another night because they had a different DJ filling in that wasn't their vibe. I hope she's right, because it was LOUD. We couldn't even hang out, we just drank our one drink in silence and left because we couldn't hear. The vibe is interesting, not sure if it was that specific night or not. We were pretty casual and this felt very fancy, and all very young professionals. We definitely felt out of place but again, the waitress was like "please come back". I feel like we could give it another try. Service was quick and drinks were good. They had a great menu.

Enter under the sign. Not sure how membership works here as I attended as a guest for someone's birthday gathering. Would like to see how the atmosphere changes later in the evening. It's such a place to gather with friends. I would consider frequenting again for sure. Drinks were good! My favorite is the Gimlet.

My sisters and I went before the holidays and made a reservation. We went earlier (7pm) and they have a buffet of hors d'oeuvres for free! So we ate and ordered drinks. It was lovely!

(visited August 2023)A friend recommended this spot, and we visited without a reservation on Friday evening. Maryland House is a new expansion of Brennan's down the street. As many have mentioned, the entrance is nondescript. Once you walk into the alley where the outdoors Italian restaurant is, look to your left, and there's an office-looking room. That's the entrance to the elevator for the bar.The space is huge and lively. It was definitely rowdy (not surprising for Friday evening), and we were able to snatch 4 bar seats.I unfortunately have to give the bar lower stars because my drink, which had a nori (seaweed) component, had a piece of nori that was inedible. I was not sure if it was an edible piece, so I took a bite, and had to immediately run to the bathroom to spit it out. It ruined my appetite after--which was a shame, because in my recollection, the drink itself was pretty good.Everyone's drinks were good, and I would not be opposed to coming back. But I hope they will update their nori drink.

Soooo tricky to find your way in but this place is beautiful and an elevated cocktail bar. I would warn you that at night, the music gets very very loud - so if that's not what you're looking for, may be good to tap out early. The cocktails here are wonderful - I really enjoyed the Stay at Bar Mom (hibiscus flavors), Carrot cocktail (creamy and delicious), Thyme cocktail (also creamy and delicious). My friend got the tuna tartare which she really enjoyed - she asked for it to be on a bed of cucumber instead of avocado and they were happy to oblige! There's bottles of water on the table for you to refill as you see fit which is nice. I would go here again for a drink or two but likely wouldn't stay for long because it does get very very loud for the space

Party of dos, came on a Friday night without reservations and were immediately seated at an outdoor community table. It is very beautiful and a great place for a date. It looked like the cozy chairs were reserved for people who made reservations so I would do that next time. The steak, tuna, burrata pizza were all VERY good. Cocktails also good but ....? no espresso martini! Would be 5 stars if they added a little caffeine to their repertoire.

First time at Maryland house and we had a great time. Upstairs patio is beautiful and great place for apps and drinks. We had a couple drinks (no espresso martinis which was a bummer) and also had the steak, tuna tartar and peppered pizza. Food was incredible paired with a great ambiance. I feel like I can make and push deals here, brining clients here next time. I spent all of my d*** money here
