Amazing food, but bizarre and uncomfortable service.
The food at The Shaved Duck is incredibly good—some of the best BBQ/smokehouse flavors around. However, the service was terrible and honestly very weird. I was there on a weekday with my husband, and the restaurant was nearly empty (just us and one other couple). My husband gave me a quick peck, and the server actually told us not to kiss or we would have to leave. It was just a small show of affection between a married couple, and it felt extremely disrespectful for her to police us like that. Who is she to tell us what to do? As much as I loved the food, the service made us feel so unwelcome that I don’t think we’ll be back.

Enjoyed the entire dinning experience! Food was delicious! Really enjoyed the collard greens, Pulled pork, Tri-tops, Meatloaf, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. Kristine, our server, was very helpful answering our questions and making sure that we didn’t need anything. She then suggested the peach cobbler! Wow! The peach cobbler was amazing!

Excellent atmosphere. Excellent service. 5 star food! We really enjoyed ourselves. The burger and the pork sandwich were excellent. The fries are delicious too. This is real cooking and for a great price (seriously about as much as a Red Robin etc and way better). The service was excellent too. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed ourselves. I would highly recommend this place.

on a hangry whim, dropped in, usually long wait so calling ahead is recommended, food was top notch and somce I bbw/grill all the time, it didn't sound good. but both me and my companion were surprised by the quality and price. being a couple they got us seated quickly above bigger parties.

Cozy BBQ-and-blues kind of place with dishes that feel crafted, not rushed. Tried the burnt ends — rich, smoky, and just the right amount of chew. Live music adds charm without taking over the room. Warm, relaxed, and very Missouri in the best way.
