mainly had drinks and they were great

Excellent food. The beer was interesting too. I think the price point is perfect. I would've thought this place would be fair more expensive than it was. The service was very good and we are excited to come back and try the pizza in the near future.

Stopped in with the family to grab dinner.Overall a great experience. The menu was small but you won't hear me complain about that. I've always preferred an establishment master a small menu than to be okay with a large menu. All of us had a hamburger from the menu and we were all blown away by how good they were. In my opinion, one of the best burgers in St. Louis. Saw another group had a pizza and it looked amazing. I'm gonna make sure I come back to try the pizza. The owner and staff were super nice and had a great sense of humor. This is a spot that deserves the community's support during these difficult times.I highly recommend!

Delicious burgers and great variety of their own craft beers. Never disappointed. Try the bottomless brunch... Bloody Marys, mimosas, or beer. Interchangeable! We love it.

I work in a brewery. This is where I go when I'm not working. How many breweries can you still meet the owner on walk in? Take a hike, you need the exercise...

Great service and fun waiter. The good was great. My husband and I both got the Cowgirl burgers. We substituted the bbq sauce for the twisted sauce, which was a very balanced mayo based sauce with horseradish and blue cheese. It wasn't overpowering at all. The burgers were juicy and cooked well. We always got loaded fries. We will definitely be back!

Let me start off by saying, I am a complete beer snob. I have been for about the last 10 years. I've logged 7k beers on untappd, and can tell you the top 2-3 breweries you should visit in any US city you go to. Thus, ill always be over critical of breweries and their beer. Living in St Louis especially, we are lucky to have as many breweries as we do.. and furthermore as many GREAT breweries as we do. Im sorry to say, twisted root does not make this list. Seemingly set in a cursed location to begin with, as the previous 2 tenants were failed breweries....It DOES have a good location being a rocks throw from the central west end and being right next to SLU. The interior however is small, and bland. The walls are almost completely blank, monochrome, and decorated only with a few tvs. The bar is outdated, and bleek as well. There is nothing warm, inviting, or unique about this place. Now let's move on to the real issue....the beer. My visit tonight is the 2nd visit I've made here. Mind you, the first was over a year ago. I honestly had no inclination to return as i found the beers nothing to write home about. I decided to give it another shot, having a dinner reservation down the street. Sad to say its the last shot ill be giving it. The beers are mediocre at best. On this visit we tried the "banana joke" hefeweizen, "war pigeon" apa, and a blackberry oud bruin called "sloppy seconds". The hefeweizen tastes thin, and watery...the outside bruin nothing as an oud bruin should, with not a hint of the blackberry it suggests. The war pigeon was the best of the three.. but again, it just feels watered down as if they didn't use enough grain for the wort. I've never eaten here, so I can't speak to the food....but the beer will be the reason I won't come back.

I'm always down to check out local breweries, and I was fortunate to check out while waiting for a seat at the nearby ramen restaurant. The bartender that greeted us was a quirky and interesting guy who gave great recommendations and was very friendly. The place is a bit small but felt cozy and people were able to stay distant. I ended up deciding on the Rob Barley-wine which was absolutely delicious. It was a rich barleywine style beer with lots of chocolate and malty flavor and thick mouthfeel. I don't always care for barleywines, but this was exceptional. My wife got the Banana Joke which is their hefewizen. I only had a few sips of that one, but it was also quite good. I didn't see an option for beer flights, but that would have been a great option to try their many beers. I hope to return sooner than later to try more of their beers!
