Located inside the Hôtel Saint Louis (Marriott), Union 30 benefits from an elegant, comfortable setting and the standing one expects from an international chain. Unfortunately, the kitchen doesn’t quite live up to the setting or the prices. The food is correct but resolutely conventional, with no real signature.
Dishes are nicely presented and the service is polite, but the experience remains underwhelming once you start eating. During our visit the dining room was almost empty (we were the only guests for a while) and yet the wait for a simple burger felt surprisingly long.
We did not eat badly; on the contrary, everything was decent. But at this price point, in this kind of environment, “decent” isn’t enough.

The food and table service were great. It just took so long to get food to the table for breakfast. And the to go bag food had no utensils.

Read the other reviews about the kitchen and wait time for food.
I have stayed at the hotel this restaurant is located in twice in the last year. I will never again eat here.
The kitchen is understaffed (admittedly by the kitchen manager-who ultimately had to get our 4 burgers ready because his staff couldn't) and you will wait for at least 40-45 minutes for food... breakfast or dinner.
His excuse is they just cant keep enough people employed in the kitchen...which sounds like a employer culture problem. The bar employees are simply going thru the motions....they could care less about service...again...not an employee problem...but a employer problem
The work culture here must be terrible.

WONDERFUL for hearing challenged guests, so beautifully quiet. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was perfectly ok and reasonably priced.
Apparently was sold out of everything except the most expensive item on the menu when I went, granted it was like 10pm

I recently stayed at Hotel Saint Louis and was delighted to discover Union 30 as a convenient and welcoming spot for breakfast. From the moment I walked in, the service stood out. Erica promptly greeted me with a warm smile and quickly provided a menu, making me feel immediately attended to and cared for.
I decided to order the St. Louis Breakfast, which came with perfectly scrambled eggs and crisp, flavorful bacon. What impressed me most was the efficiency—my food arrived in just about seven minutes, which was wonderful given how hungry I was. The meal was both satisfying and well-prepared, striking the right balance of comfort and quality.
Overall, Union 30 made for an excellent start to my day. Between the attentive service, the quick turnaround, and the tasty food, I couldn’t have asked for a better breakfast experience during my stay.

It was a very nice place to have brunch. The food was great and the staff were very helpful. This a beautiful restaurant in an established hotel downtown. I would go back.

Tucked away as a hidden gem in the heart of downtown St. Louis, Union 30 Restaurant sits inside the beautiful Hotel Saint Louis Autograph Collection. Where elegance and luxury meets historic beauty. Offerings from an assortment of seafood, steaks, weekly specials and more. You gotta be sure to give all the St. Louis staples on the menu a try. From toasted ravioli to gooey butter cake and red hot riplet dry rubbed wings to all the local beers and spirits they serve. Give them a try and I promise you, it's way beyond your regular hotel food. This is a restaurant. Get You Some! 😋

My husband and I ordered dinner to take up to our hotel room. First of all you have to go downstairs and pick up your own food from the restaurant inside the hotel, which they consider room service , so you are charged a service fee. The cheeseburger and fries had so much salt. You could literally press your hand down and salt was just pouring off of your hands. Also, vegan dish was tasteless. I went downstairs to see if possibly, they could remake it. I was attempting to be courteous and not discuss the poor food in front of other customers. However, the manager rudely approached me. I was explaining to him what was going on, even touched the food to show him how much salt was on there. I even made the statement maybe it was possible that the top came off accidentally by someone in the kitchen, and they didn’t realize (trying to give him the benefit of the doubt). He was super argumentative no apology no offer to even make it right can we remake that for you would’ve been the correct thing to do. On a scale of 0 to 10 they get a zero from us. He also asks if I “understood “what a vegan dish was he was being very condescending and demeaning in his tone toward me,. I would never recommend this place. And whoever owns it or whoever is running it might want to get a different manager. Somebody who is courteous, has manners and understands how to talk to customers.

Made me guarantee reservation with credit card and then we got there and the restaurant was EMPTY on a Saturday night. Like one other table the whole time we were there. Very odd vibe. Waiter was kind and attentive but very strange atmosphere. In the lobby of a hotel.
Very quiet as it was a Saturday night. Looks like a place that is likely more crowded during the business week. Food and service was excellent.
Overall bad experience - the coffee was tasteless and lukewarm (and no oatmilk available), the wait for the food was an hour long and the food itself underwhelming and not even hot. Parts of the order were forgotten and the fruit bowl were just a few pieces of melon.
The staff was inattentive and tried to overcharge us on the way out.
The restaurant was full of people and everybody was sitting at an empty table, with zero communication from the staff when the food will be served.
We can't believe this is a restaurant in a 4 star hotel. Avoid at all cost.

The restaurant - located within the Hotel Saint Louis - is a great spot for breakfast, especially if you are staying in the hotel. The prices are reasonable, and the service is great. The food is also great, and though there is a somewhat limited selection, they have all the basics of a brunch covered, and I’ve not left a single meal there unsatisfied.

Food was good and service was ok/good. It was a slow night and should have been able to do better but they were very distracted
