Urban Chestnut Grove Brewery and Bierhall

Great beer, but huge line for food. Fries were soggy.

Visiting from Wisconsin. We love UCB beer. We had our first taste of it at Salt & Smoke on an earlier visit this year and fell in love. We weren't able to check out the brewery last time, so the first place we went to when we got into town was Urban Chestnut The Grove. I wanted to give a 5 and honestly, if I didn't love thier damn beer so much, sadly, I would have given them a 3. My currywurst was cold, yes actually cold the fries were fresh out so I piled them on top of the sausage to warm it up. We ordered a flight and water, 30 minutes later we got the water. I want to irritate the beers are amazing, we had the battle of the porters and additionally the German porter. Chocolaty creamy goodness, yum. I should mention we were there at about 5:30pm on a Saturday. My opinion, don't bother with the food, and get your beer to go. Which we did. :-)

Beer was really good. Pizza was gross. It was drowning in way too much cheese. Also, we saw a mouse running around (in the room on the left as you first walk in).

Good beer, faculty can be very loud. We had a 60min wait to get our food, luckily the beer arrived sooner.

Chris DeBeer was awesome, and the whole crew for supporting our brewery run!

Place kinda smelled funky BUT the beer was really good. Spacious and lots of variety of beers. Went twice so I can’t complain.

The best brewery in St Louis

Always a good time here, my son loves the bubble hockey, my husband and I love the beers, and Katie serving drinks does a great job of guiding you to something you’ll like. Never have I heard of so many interesting ways to describe a flavor!

I have a great time every time I go to urban chestnut! The food is great, love the pizzas, and the beer is delicious. I always love seeing Katie behind the bar! Such a great smile!

The beer is good for sure! But the food has gone downhill! Tried the chicken sandwich a couple months ago, was pretty decent! Came back today for it, it was pretty bad! The fries were hard and stale(definitely old) and upon telling the kitchen, they didn’t really seem to care much about it either. Not coming back for food again. For beer yes but food a big NO!

Great German style food and drink

Great beer, but the pizza was the sleeper hit. The vegan mushroom pizza was some of the best we’ve had. We also really enjoyed the brat platter — the potato salad was especially exceptional!

Undercooked sausage, advertised schnitzel, they open at 12 for lunch, no schnitzel at 1, really!

As good as the very best breweries in the West including CO, WA, OR, CA, MT, UT, WY, and you name it. Western States brews are a little different, yet no better to the very best in St. Louis.
