A neighborhood treasure of old world delightsSit down with your favorite companion, start with the bright flavors of the olives, then choose a sandwich and a pasta to share. You truly can not go wrong. The focacia is light and tender, Italian meats delicately sliced, the arugula aromatic, and the spreads perfectly chosen.House-made pasta is perfectly al-dente and dressed with the care of an artist.Converse with the family; mother, daughter, and son who run the restaurant together. Admire the antiques and pantry delicacies, perhaps selecting some to bring home. The portions and preparations are such that you can squeak in a delightful desert without being overfull or needing an immediate nap.Don't forget the espresso and a pizelle to send you on your way.

Wonderful experience. They were kind and patient with me. I ordered the Classico panini and instead got it with salami. It was SO yummy. I can’t wait to go back!

One of the best sandwiches I've had in St. Louis (the Piccante). Gem of a place. Will be back very soon.

It’s worth the wait. Please be patient with the staff as the food is cooked fresh! I dined in, ordering 3 things from their menu. The staff are professional and SO KIND! This was a birthday gift to myself. They truly made my day.

Wow!!!! This place knocked my socks off. This restaurant is nestled in a tiny little shop in Lafayette square. Everything I tried was amazing. The bread is baked with high quality flour from Italy. It had just the right amount of saltiness. They serve it with fresh pesto, 24 mo aged Parmesan, and delish olive oil. For mains, we shared the meatballs with polenta, prosciutto e tartufo panini, & pici cacio e pepe (hand rolled pasta ). For dessert we had the Italian waffle cookies. The service was just as good as the food! Friendly & good recommendations on food. Would definitely go back!! Please try this place!!!

Food Vendor at Tower Grove Farmer’s Market turned Brick-and-Mortar, Vicini Pastaria is THE place to have a great Italian lunch while also picking out food for the week from their ready-made fridge. The whole menu is my favorite and changes daily based on what is in season.

What a gem in the Lafayette Square neighborhood! This tiny shop & restaurant packs a punch with lots of unique and special gift items, handcrafted pastas and sauces and local Salumi and imported cheeses. I scored a beautiful terra cotta wine chiller from Italy for my Aunt and Uncle that live in Augusta and they were so pleased to receive this at Christmas. I also scored some "gluten conscious" pasta which my sister with celiac really enjoyed. The owners mother has celiac and she assures me she is able to enjoy this pasta. My sister and her daughter didn't have any issues either. What a blessing! It was a little pricey at $24.99 per pound, but it was a nice splurge and well worth it. The chef/owner and her family were very welcoming and provided a lot of information about the shop and their food while I was there. I will update this review once I have tried the restaurant section which is just a couple of small tables. Nice and intimate! I can see why this has quickly become neighborhood favorite. Sidenote, the chef will do a private pasta making session in your home if you like!

I moved to Lafayette Square a few months ago, and I am mad at myself for waiting so long to try this place. First of all, the space is extremely charming. Most importantly, though, the bread service and pasta is unbeatable. The bread service comes with the most delicious pesto. The pasta is made in house, and the sauces are just right - not too rich and also not lacking in flavor in the slightest. As a cheese lover, I love to add burrata to mine. You can also buy pasta and sauces to prepare at home, which is amazing. I can attest that it makes for *almost* as good of a dish at home. The only downside is the odd hours. They are open for lunch, and I feel like the pastas would make for such a great dinner option. Still, I will be coming back here again and again for lunch.

Everything is delicious. Really great Aperitivo (Happy Hour) with small plates. Delicious Volpi meats as well.
