Lo and behold we had received a confirmation for the reservation but when we got there, we found the restaurant closed with shades pulled down over the windows, and where we were able to see inside it appeared that there were no tables, chairs or anything present. A Maps search to make sure we were at the correct location resulted in a notice that the place is “temporarily closed”. What gives?
Bro, i made a reservation for after my graduation and the place just wasn't open..?? like i tried calling and it went straight to voicemail, we tried walking in, all doors locked. when i was looking thru the windows i didn't even see tables or chairs. i was very confused?? I'm really annoyed because i was looking forward to celebrating with my family.
The food was average; the scallops were overcooked. The sauce for the crab cake was excellent. The apps were served after the main course but our server did apologize. The decor was just off. The place needs a serious update.
This was my first time visiting West End Bistro. I went on the suggestion of a friend. She said it was a great place and she was right. We enjoyed the staff, the atmosphere, the music and of course, the food. I have absolutely no complaints. I was "concerned" about a somewhat long wait for our orders, but I learned that the food is "made to order", which makes it worth the wait. And the food was outstanding. I recommend visiting West End Bistro anytime. I hear they have live music on some evenings and an all-you-can-eat buffet / brunch on Sundays. I will definitely be returning!
The food wasn't great, seafood was overcooked and dry. The appetizers were served after the main course. Our server wasn't sure if he was covering our table and checked with us infrequently; they were not busy. The decor was a mess. It seemed like the place has had several owners and they keep adding incongruent items. They still have some Christmas decorations up in May (and they were faded). Not a great experience.
A MUST GOme and my hubby went today, immediately as we walked in the door we were greeted and seated, and our order was promptly taken. Our glasses were always full, and we were well taken care of. Need more mayonnaise? They gave it immediately. More utensils? No hassel. We were well taken care of the entire night, they checked up on us, as well as engaged in banter. When we offered feedback, they were more then open. The wait time was a little longer than I expected, though I suspect that is due to staffing issues.I highly reccomend the Seafood Gumbo and Chocolate cake, my hubby isn't a sweets guy, but he ate it up. It was my first time eating frog legs, was a more than pleasant experience.I think we will be regulars here now
The food was amazing! The hostess was amazing and our waiter to. I give 3 stars because we had a coupon that said the limit was 3 per person and he let us only use one I only had 2. I was going to be ignorant. It was $15 off from Groupon. We spent over $300, there were 5 of us. And we tipped well. And the bathroom was clean and the had lotion in there.
Excellent food & service. Not too crowded @ lunch time. Prices weren't bad for soup & salad for 2 under $25. Frrnch onion soup was great!
Beautiful atmosphere and great food! The staff is very professional and each experience I've had at this establishment felt very personalized and warming. The Chef and The Matron of the Bar are very beautiful hosts. I can definitely feel and taste the love in every thing.
Found them on Groupon and they looked good from the reviews. I got an order of chicken wings, fried calamari, and a salad. I placed a pick-up order and was told it would be 25mins. When I came in it was only ONE person in there at the bar sitting. Got to the car and checked my food. The fried calamari was not crispy at all ☹️ it was a soft breading on them which made me not eat them. The wings were ok, you only get 4 little wings and the fries that came with wings were soggy and flimsy NOTHING like the pictures to me. Customer service definitely could of been better, not welcoming at all. Large and spacious. Probably won’t be back

Nice place! The pricing is decent. Was there for a total an hour and half though and ordered pretty quick items (soup, salad, piece of chocolate cake that was to die for, fried calamari, and a quesadilla- it was loaded) the food was really tasty and the coffee was good too. Gave it a 4☆ bc the time...
called and e-mailed to try to make reservations and I have gotten no response, that concerns me regarding their service, will not be going
We were a large group(30) of seniors from our local y. The service was of course not as fast as with only 4 people. The waiter was the chef as well as the server, so I say the service was excellent. The food was delicious. I will definitely come back. I thank West End Bistro for being so accommodating to our large, hungry group of seniors giving us a private room to eat and fellowship.
Always a reliable lunch or diner spot with great drinks! This time I had the crab cakes with gumbo and fries and the Jamaican punch. Incredible! The fries are some of the best in stl to me! Great atmosphere too!
Great food! Check it out!
