The authentic Chinese flavors and attractive atmosphere of Saint Louis' Year of the Dragon Chinese restaurant have taken me on a culinary adventure that has left me spellbound. I was welcomed inside by the enticing smells of freshly made Chinese food as well as the friendly hospitality of the personnel.Year of the Dragon's menu features a delicious array of classic Chinese dishes that highlight the depth and variety of Chinese cuisine.

This place came recommended to us by a friend. We visited it while in St. Louis and when I tell you this is a rough part of town please take me at my word. The building is really old and in need of repair and it's about the only thing open in this little run down strip mall.We ordered by phone and the ordering process was very easy. I really liked that they offered half orders as well as full orders for pretty much everything on the menu.I ordered Shrimp Fried Rice (extra shrimp, spicy) my husband ordered the same minus the spice. The order was ready when promised and was hot and fresh. The flavor of the food was good. Their rice consists of: rice, shrimp, onion, bean sprouts and tastes like some soy cooked in as well.It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was enjoyable. The Crab Rangoon were pretty good also.I wouldn't get too adventurous when ordering from the menu offerings just because of the appearance of this establishment. There is limited seating to dine in like two tables and four chairs and the shrimp were tiny. All in all it was an experience and it was good for a late night snack. Prices were very reasonable and your food comes in the "old skool" Chinese food containers, which was kind of whimsical ( I know I'm such a quirk about things like that).*My apologies my husband went in to grab the food so I don't have pictures but what he described was quite interesting.Kid-friendliness: No. I wouldn't take my child here and definitely wouldn't choose to dine in, especially with children.

Been going to this restaurant for months and the food was always good an plentiful however I have been noticing more and more that they replacing meats for skin in other words in my case I ordered duck fried rice but what I got was the skin of the duck fried rice, I tried to complain however I was giving the runaround no satisfaction whatsoever. Well it looks like from today moving forward I will be making my own duck fried rice.

What I ordered I didn't get very disappointed although the chicken wings and crab Rangoon were good the happy box didn't have the gravy so wasn't happy about that my meal wasn't good at

Ever since the first time we ate here we haven't gone back to any of the other Chinese restaurants we used to think we loved! The food here has been excellent, the staff is always friendly and the quality is great in my humble opinion. I normally get vegetable fried rice with extra egg and green onions, an order of egg fu young and crab Rangoon so that I can have some for lunch the next day. My guy always gets beef pepper steak with added shrimp and a side of gravy and his daughter gets a combination plate of orange chicken and plain fried rice. I love their plain fried rice as well and plan to change it up next time and get their General Tso's Chicken. I'm sure it will be delicious.
