Got the raw oysters last night. A few of the dozen tasted off (very briny and fishy, definitely not fresh). At 5 am this morning my stomach felt like it was punched. Massive cramping and then running to the bathroom every 20 min. Been in pain for 7 hours now. For a $200+ meal I expect fresh seafood.

Came here for the first time after reading numerous good reviews, and I'm so glad with the food and service Yellowbelly offers. Our order:
Brussel Sprouts - 3/5 - The Brussel sprouts were a little extra charred, so they were a bit dry, but the sauce was spot on
Cheddar biscuits - 4/5 - the portion size was too small, but they were flavourful, buttery, and melt in the mouth
Street style corn taquitos - 4.5/5 - Flavourful and a must try
Jerk chicken spicy burger - 4.5/5 - it wasn't as spicy as we thought it to be. It was kinda on a sweeter note. But I have to admit the chicken was juicy and super flavourful. I would definitely recommend this
Lion's share Cocktail - 4/5 - pretty nice bourbon cocktail
It's just a little expensive on the pocket, but overall, it was a great experience, and the servers were super friendly, too.

I was recommended this restaurant by several friends, but I just don't think it's for me.
My fiancé and I split the hangar steak and two small plates; pork belly and the carrots. There was nothing overtly wrong with the dishes, but they are easily forgotten. The cocktails we had were so sweet that it was hard to appreciate any underlying flavor.
Service was great we had a very nice waitress who took plenty of time to explain the dishes and come by several times to check. After having been touted this dining experience for several months, it did not live up to hype unfortunately.

Decent food...But they don't hire black server's or bartenders

Yellowbelly is clearly a hot dining spot for a lot of people in St. Louis, but I just don't think it's for me.
The cocktails, with the exception of the Pina Colada, were just a bit much (too spicy, too sour, etc) for my tastes. The hanger steak had great flavor, but ended up being undercooked enough to hurt my enjoyment of the dish. On the upside, the upside down pineapple bread pudding was really good!
Service and atmosphere were serviceable, but for a somewhat premium dining experience, I was hoping for more from every aspect of Yellowbelly.

Atmosphere is hip and trendy. The staff was all hardworking and professional. Food was great. We got the jerk chicken burger and fish sandwich, with a side of beef fat fries. All tasty. The drinks also were refreshing.

I went to Yellowbelly two weekends in a row because it was that good the first visit. The fried oysters are delicious, the grits are the absolute best in St. Louis, and the piña colada was the best I have ever had. You have to try the cheddar bread, pork belly, and crab rolls too.

Although, it took a really long time for our food to arrive when we were seated in the dining room (vs going to the bar) the service was still 10/10!

I had the most delightful experience at Yellow Belly tonight. As a Saint Louis transplant, I hold firm to the fact that this city offers a lot in terms of the most remarkable eats. My partner and I love to share dishes (because why have a taste of one meal when you can have a taste of several?) we had the privilege to enjoy 8 different menu options at this restaurant. Every single one was perfectly balanced in taste and texture. Our server, Matt, carefully paced everything out for us to enjoy, even though we didn’t ask that of him. From the West Coast oysters slightly modified with a pineapple tepache to the best flourless chocolate cake I have ever had in my entire life, Yellow Belly reinforced that a taste of Saint Louis is best served in multiple dishes all highlighting subtle, diverse flavors that join together to sing a a gorgeous medley. It is a perfect reminder that food is meant to be shared and enjoyed. To the chefs and creators of this place to the welcoming, happy staff: thank you. The only thing I’m sad about is the fact that all we took home was a hat.

The only thing I’d make a correction on is that you Google Business Profile does not reflect the break you take on Sundays after brunch. It says you’re open 10am to 11pm. But we came at 4:56 and your hostess was happy to seat us as soon as it was 5.

Yellowbelly is a fun, light fusion restaurant with a theme that merges Cuban by way of Seattle with Japanese Whiskey Bar. The service is kind, the dishes served fast and hot with menu focused to please. The only complaint would be for the price the flavors are not as complex as I have had and the plates are largely a gourmet bachelor list of hamburger, coconut shrimp, beef fat fries and more with some other more exotic options.

The frozen drinks are literally two options, one is very very sharp and acidic that gets old quite fast while the other is a really nice Pina Colada but don't mix them together for the love of Bacchus.

It's slightly more show than stay but a great addition to the area for a fast date night for roughly $30 a person.

We had a party of 8, ordered drinks, small plates and some meals. Everything was top notch!! Our waiter was awesome, he gave us all tiny pina colada drinks after our meal for a birthday toast, best Pina colada I've ever had! Waters and drinks were filled at all times, the carrots and tacos were probably my favorite of the several plates we ordered but literally all the food was incredible! We will definitely be back!!

Great restaurant in the CWE. The food and cocktails are great. The menu is shareable with a lot of fun fusion options. The food seems influenced by Japanese and pacific island themes with an emphasis on good seafood. The cocktails are awesome with a fruity and tropical theme. I particularly enjoyed the Pisco sour. They have outdoor seating as well, but due their location on the intersection of Euclid and Lindell it can get noisy with traffic.
