So happy we finally tried Yemanja! Waitress informed us we picked the perfect weekend to come because it's the last weekend Yemanja will be open in its current form. According to her, the owners are closing the restaurant for approximately one month and reopening as a Brazilian bar and grill with a different menu. I'm sure some regulars won't be happy about the change but I'm excited to try the new version of the restaurant next month. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation (we did not) this caught us by surprise because the website doesn't mention reservations. It wasn't an issue and we were seated immediately. The restaurant decor is festive and a bit eclectic. We ordered the National Drink of Brazil and it was very strong but great. I loved it. The heart of palm empanadas for the appetizer were recommended by our waitress and I'm glad we ordered them. I don't think I've ever had an empanada, they were very good. The options for vegetarians are limited but the only entree I could eat was really good and filling; I couldn't finish it. Yucca fries, black beans with rice and greens. The greens were my favorite. Entrees came either soup or salad. We both chose the salad and it was a nice salad. The house bread was okay, it came the seasoned butter. My boyfriend ordered one of the seafood entrees with shrimp. He loved it. Cleaned his plate. We will return for the new version of Yemanja. Hopefully there will be more vegetarian options.

So nice to go to a Brazilian restaurant that actually has dishes instead of just meat on stakes lol. Great atmosphere with wonderful staff. Food was delicious as well.

The food was incredible and the service was above and beyond expectations in this price range. Lovely holiday pop-up bar open upstairs during our visit. Highly recommended. We'll be back. ❤️

I was so glad to see that they still do a solid dinner service since I hadn't been in quite a while. Small and intimate but they do well with giving each table space and great attention. Lots of regulars, the owners greeting and embracing many customers gave me the warm fuzzies. Of course the warm fuzziness could have come from the Caipirinhas...I traded my usual glass of wine for 3 of this Brazilian staple and shhheeesh! They are DELICIOUS! I'm ashamed to say half my bill was because of that amazing drink! NO REGRETS.Ordered the Empanadas de Camarao as an app. The pastry alone could hold its own. The filling inside was runny but sweet yet savory and spiced nicely with medium sized shrimp and I was dying for a glass of white with these but stuck with my caipirinha! Again, the pastry itself could sell out in a bakery. Our table decided on 3 different entrees. The Pescado Miranda, the Xin Xim de Galinha and the Bife Acebolado. If you're a fan of seafood pasta, tutto mare, and whitefish in general, the Pescado Miranda should be right up your alley. The sauce definitely is strong on the coconut, being that it's a coconut cream sauce, not just a hint of coconut here and there. It's something you can very easily imagine having for dinner in Brazil. The ribeye (Bife Acebolado) was huge and perfectly cooked at medium rare. A bit of a flavorful chimichurri on top but not overkill. The potato side dish was delectable with golden wedges blended with cheese and baked to bubbling. The Xin Xim de Galinha is their signature chicken dish. The sauce was more red and peppery than I've had before and probably hotter than I expected- but I like heat! Not sure that the shrimp that topped the chicken were rock shrimp as menu implied since they gave the chicken dish an overall fishy flavor rather than the sweet succulent taste I was hoping for. It was a good dish, but not enough for me to want to take the leftover home, you know? Flan for dessert was very refined, not overly sweet. Really nice. It was an enjoyable dinner experience for sure. We'll be back for that patio vibe and those caipirinhas! Great service ?

I’d give this spot 100 stars if I could. Yemanja Brasil always offers a special experience with its warm and eclectic ambiance. The abundance of pescatarian options is a real treat, showcasing the rich flavors of Brazilian cuisine. Lemya, the owner, adds a personal touch, making each visit fantastic. The homage to Yemọja “Yemanja”, the Water Goddess, adds a unique cultural touch to the dining experience. The seafood risotto and shrimp empanadas are definite highlights, making it a spot worth frequenting.

the food was incredible! The chimichurri was so tasty atop the ribeye steak, which was the special! The ambiance in the restaurant was very homey as it was decorated for christmas! The waitress was not only attentive but told us jokes throughout the evening!

I've been to Yemanja multiple times & I try a new entree everything time, each time never disappoints! The spot is so cozy, so cute & such a vibe! It can be a quiet intimate dinner or you can make it into a fun filled group dinner! Tonight I got the seafood risotto & it was, CHEFS KISS! So delicious! For desserts we got the apple empanada with caramel drizzled over it with vanilla ice cream, the other empanada was pumpkin rolled in cinnamon sugar with a side of vanilla ice cream. Make sure you don't skip dessert because you'll regret it! It doesn't get much fresher than this! Every time I've gone, the owners have been here & they are so sweet, so personable, ask you how things are & make an effort to talk to you. Make sure to check out this super convenient & delicious Brazilian restaurant in the heart of Benton Park.

First things first, the food is truly outstanding. But this place covers all the bases: excellent service and beautiful dining area as well as fantastic food. Save room for dessert but ask about portion size before ordering. If you don't specify you'll get an enormous portion. Of course that might be exactly what you want :)

So amazing. I've been wanting to try this place for years and finally did last night. The patio is lovely and has heaters. We had a special appetizer that was pork belly and potato? rolled up and deep fried with a chipotle aioli. We shared the Pescado Miranda and Frango Minas. Everything was fantastic, including the service and ambiance. We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend!
