There’s nothing better than finding someone local who knows how to make a delicious pernil. The food hit all the right spots and the owner was super friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend if you’re craving something authentic and made with love.
My family and I ordered the 'Arroz con Gandules y Pernil, traditional beef, cheese and green onion, and buffalo chicken empandas as well as the sweet plantains and strawberry refreshers'. The pork, apart of the entree dish, was delicious, tender and pulled apart with ease. The rice that came with it was super flavorful and everything paired nicely with the sauce that came on the side. I figured the food would be good, based on others talking about it. But it was still even better than I expected! I got the cabana bowl, and a guava cheesecake empanada. the chicken was soo moist and flavorful, and the cilantro garlic sauce was perfect! The empanada dough was the perfect texture of not too soft, not too crunchy. And the cheesecake filling was so unique! it wasn't super sweet, and paired so well with the guava filling.
